I know you enjoyed writing the Harry Potter series probably as much as I enjoyed reading it. How does it feel to finally be able to establish yourself in a world that is the opposite end of Harry Potter? Was it a relief? Or was it difficult?

Ms. Rowling, after the success of Harry Potter, what prompted you to change genres and write a novel for adults?

I had a discussion with friends last night about whether or not we would retire after writing the Harry Potter series. I said I wouldn't, because most writers write because they love to write, not for money. After writing the Harry Potter series, were you afraid to write another novel for fear of how it would be received?

Were you afraid of publishing a book that was full of flawed and, at times, very unlikable characters after completing a series with so many likable characters?

A lot of writers seem to write to please their audience and not for themselves. Did you write Casual Vacancies in order to please yourself and your family or to give your growing audience anither piece of J.K Rowlingbto get their teeth into?

I absolutely loved the harry potter books and movies, will you ever write any other fantasy book series, there's just no other writer that can compare to you

I find it rather interesting how you split the book up into seven parts, just like how you had Voldemort split his soul into seven parts in the harry Potter serie. I ask, why did you decide to do this, to split it into seven and what were your influences to do this?

I haven't read the book yet but I plan to. What inspired you to write adult literature after you children's was such a success? Is there anything you took from Harry Potter and incorporated into Casual Vacancy?

The Harry Potter books were filled with beloved characters, each close to my heart. Every death made left me grieving deeply. However, The Casual Vacancy doesn't seem to have any such characters. Although I knew all of them by the end of the book, I can't say I liked any of them. Was this intentional?

It struck me how much Casual Vacancy is like a contemporary Middlemarch, and I wondered if you would say you were influenced by Eliot's novel in crafting your own.

In "The Casual Vacancy", I was deeply affected by Krystal's suicide of sorts but the longer I thought about it, the more I realised that I could not imagine any other solution for her happiness once Robbie died. Do you think any other course of action would have given her peace?

Also, on a side note, are these characters as familiar to you as those of
Harry Potter? After all, you spent a decade writing the series and marginally less than that on this new novel; are characters intuitively intimate to you?

We know that The Casual Vacancy is being turned into a TV series, not to mention the success of the Harry Potter movies on top of that. Do you think that your books would have been as successful if the roles had been reversed? Casual Vacancy a movie and Harry Potter a TV Series.
