Odd behavior of using "new edition" to add books

I've noticed this, something counter-intuitive.

When you go to the editions page of a book, and from there to "add a new edition", when you finish adding the new edition it's not actually combined to the main title (i.e. it's not made into another edition of): you still have to combine manually.

That's the way it works, there has been discussion on it before but if I remember correctly no an easy change to make.

It is more of a feedback group issue since this group does not affect system changes - that this the pervue of the feedback group
