Okay, so their parents know each other, and they both needed to settle a political problem (money problems). So, they set up an arranged marriage when they were just about two. But something came up and they both canceled the marriage (the parents got a raise in their jobs). Cara and Matthew still ended up becoming childhood friends and played together. He is her only friend, as she has been homeschooled up until now.
