I'm trying to get myself out of a pickle. So, I write a weekly blog, but I usually post it on my MySpace site, because that's where I got most of my readers from and was one of the first social networking sites I created.
Now that I've made additional profiles I have RSS feeds on most of them, and re-post my blogs on Goodreads as well. I feel as if my blog can't be taken fully seriously thought for the sole fact it's on MySpace.
So, I want to make a profile with Eblogger and transfer all of my blogs over to it. What do you believe would be the easiest way to do this? What I mean is do any of you have any tips on how I'd get my readers to follow me over? Then, what do I do with that space on MySpace without readers simply thinking I stopped blogging.
The only alternative I've been able to think of is to have different blogs on different sites, but that seems like it wouldn't work.
What I have noticed a few authors doing on MySpace is they do a blog on MySpace telling what the topic of their blog on their website is (or C&P the first paragraph or so) and put in a link to the rest of the blog. Not only does it keep their MySpace followers involved, it drives them to their website where they can usually find out more information about them and their books.
I use Facebook and Blogger. I post a link on my Facebook page to my most recent Blogger entry. That way people can follow it if they wish. Does MySpace have a link-sharing feature?
Sometimes it's easier just to have one blog. I thought about making two but I knew I'd take one more seriously than the other, so I just stuck with the one I had.
