Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Well done Nicola!

Oh, Simon will have to sort the next poll, I think.

I'll be in Vietnam. Lying on a beach with my kindle, I hope.

Nicola Palmer | 255 comments Thanks David. This was only my third attempt. Last time I came joint third with plenty of company :)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments David wrote: "Mine was partially true "A parrot in a flock of doves"."

That's the one I chose!

Mmm, I think I could tolerate that too!

A woman of taste ;~)

Good luck Nicola, I found coming up with a theme harder than writing for one.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You chose a great theme David.

message 60: by Nicola (new)

Nicola Palmer | 255 comments Yes, I think it will be a bigger challenge, David. Must think of something good. I've already made a fool of myself revealing my paw-sniffing habit.

message 61: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments I used to do that with the dog I had as a kid. They smelled like toast!

message 62: by Nicola (new)

Nicola Palmer | 255 comments Yum! You can't beat the smell of dogs' feet. Unless they've stepped in something unpleasant on their walk ;)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Patti (Number 69) wrote: "You chose a great theme David."

Thank you. Is it unusual to have 9 tie for second?

Just sniffed our dog's. Digestive biscuit; who'da thunk it?

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh ick.

message 66: by Nicola (new)

Nicola Palmer | 255 comments See! I'm glad it's not just me. Sometimes they smell like popcorn too!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Oh stopppit.

message 68: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Don't mention popcorn to Patti or Jim!

message 69: by B J (new)

B J Burton (bjburton) | 2680 comments Oops! Wooden spoon for me - and I don't even have to share it with anyone. I'm off to sit in the corner and sulk...

Right. Done that. What's the next theme? Whatever it is I'm going to work in ribbons, cyclones and parrots.
I voted for the parrot - what a strong image that is.
Well done, Nicola. Enjoy your spending spree.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments The parrot made me a bit weepy actually.

Sorry missed this one.

Hmmmm.

Yes I think so. We usually have ties but that's a lot.

OOO! tell me more, like why? I thought pure dialogue was a risky move, but enjoyed writing that way.

Jonathan Hill | 1599 comments Well done, Nicola!

I voted for Darn It!
I wrote Black and White.

message 74: by Patti (baconater) (last edited Jun 27, 2013 05:38AM) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments The powerful imagery. The unspoken connection between the characters.

The impression of deep love between them that you portrayed.

And now I've misted up again.

message 75: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments In that case you should read Alloria!

message 76: by Jud (new)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I love popcorn. I think digestive biscuit is the closest smell to the smell of Oscar's feet

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments I voted for the parrot too! :)
Mine was Baby Blue - second again :)

message 78: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Baby blue got my vote. I voted for yours last time, too. Your writing style must appeal to me :~)

message 79: by Marc (new)

Marc Nash (sulci) | 4313 comments mine was the stream of consciousness "Hue & Cry". Guess SoC may not play too well for the 200 word read :-)

message 80: by Adam (new)

Adam (adammannan) | 133 comments Congratulations, Nicola. You may have destroyed my like of Nachos though, I'll be thinking about dog's feet from now on.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments David wrote: "In that case you should read Alloria!"

I'll get there.

message 82: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I know. Too many books; too little time. Can't remember the last time I sat down and read for more than twenty minutes. :~(

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Go to bed an hour earlier.

Ha! My autocorrect wanted me to say ear litter.

Go to bed an hour ear litter, David.

message 84: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments All the litter in my ears tumbles from the mouths of my children.

message 85: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Congratulations Nicola!
The one I voted came in second.

message 86: by Kasia (new)

Kasia (kasiap) | 23 comments Congratulations Nicola! I voted for Darn It but I liked Purple too. The choice was very hard this time: so many good entries.

message 87: by Nicola (new)

Nicola Palmer | 255 comments Thank you :) I must apologise for spoiling the enjoyment of nachos. And possibly digestives.
