Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments When her four year old daughter informs her a sick man is in their yard, Honor Gillette rushes out to help him. But that "sick" man turns out to be Lee Coburn, the man accused of murdering seven people the night before. Dangerous, desperate, and armed, he promises Honor that she and her daughter won't be hurt as long as she does everything he asks. She has no choice but to accept him at his word.

But Honor soon discovers that even those close to her can't be trusted. Coburn claims that her beloved late husband possessed something extremely valuable that places Honor and her daughter in grave danger. Coburn is there to retrieve it -- at any cost. From FBI offices in Washington, D.C., to a rundown shrimp boat in coastal Louisiana, Coburn and Honor run for their lives from the very people sworn to protect them, and unravel a web of corruption and depravity that threatens not only them, but the fabric of our society.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I just got it today from the library. I read it awhile back, but I am looking forward to rereading it. I just finished Captured Lies by Maggie Thom (a member of ours) and it was great.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I forgot how much I liked Lethal. Lee Coburn at the start seems so bad, and yet he is the good guy. I haven't gotten to the part where you know what he is looking for, but I know it is important to catching the real bad guys.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments Since I already know who the Bookkeeper is it is hard for me to read the parts about the bookkeeper. (I don't want to give away too much)

Angela (ladiromance) | 47 comments Just finished Lethal and I loved it, even though it was kind of depressing at the end. I won't say anything else either. Can't give away any secrets. I've been a long time fan of Ms. Brown's writing, with my favorite being Slow Heat in Heaven.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I'm so glad you also read it Angela. I was beginning to think I was alone here.

I found a mistake. When Tori meets Honor and Lee she is driving a corvette, but when she leaves she is driving a mini.

(view spoiler)

Angela (ladiromance) | 47 comments I missed that about the car. I thought Honor started to get in her car but spotted the van and went back into her house, then she went out the back to her gay friends house next door. She borrowed their mini cooper. That bit in the spoiler made no sense to me either. Still it was an enjoyable read

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments Your right she went to her car and when she spotted the van went back to the house. But it says Honor and Lee watched her pull up in a corvette. But when she leaves she is in a mini cooper.

****If you don't want to know the ending to this story DO NOT LOOK AT THE SPOILER****

Angela (ladiromance) | 47 comments Dee, I didn't mean your comment didn't make sense, I meant that the way SB wrote it was crazy. You're right the story has a lot of holes (view spoiler) I still got swept into the world of these characters.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments Oh I so agree with you. I really liked the story. I LOVE her suspense and mysteries. I am not crazy about her romances, at least for the most part.

message 13: by Angela (new)

Angela (ladiromance) | 47 comments You are right, Dee. Years ago when she write for Silhouette romances, she knew how to do romance, now not so much. Her writing is not as it was.

message 14: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I think that is true with a lot of writers.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments Catherine Coulter I think is like that. I LOVE Julie Garwoods earlier books (the historical ones) I am not as crazy about her newer books. You know the ones that are modern day books.
