Can someone please help me change my book's description to the version below, which is more current and concise?

Thank you!

Rich

---------

Life in Dearborn, New Jersey is more than just boring for 14-year-old Milo Banks. After being skipped a grade to become the smallest freshman in high school, it can be downright painful. Bullies, sports, girls—none of it is easy when you're small and unusually smart.

Then one day, Milo sees an incredible thing happen. His father—the dashing Maxwell Banks, known for his clumsiness and quiet nature—rescues a girl from getting hit by a car. Only he does it by grabbing her and jumping 50 feet into the air, above the houses on their street.

He tells Milo to keep what he just saw a secret, or their family could be in danger. But Milo goes against his father’s wishes and delves into his family’s mysterious past. He discovers a shocking truth: that his parents are descendants of ancient gods that created another realm alongside ours—a realm of legend, where people ride winged horses, use magic, and change into animals at will.

When an old man in black clothing shows up on Milo’s doorstep claiming to be the Banks family’s mortal enemy, Milo will find himself on a grand adventure in a world he never could have imagined, on a dangerous quest to save the only people he loves, and a home he may never see again.

Caro | 177 comments Is this a newer description? Different from an edition that was already out? It looks like the first edition was 'Milo Banks and the Tower of Light'. That edition would stay the same (with the older cover) and the newer edition would be changed to this description with the newer cover and info.

Caro | 177 comments That's so people will be able to tell which edition they read/have. (Some like specifics) The book with the most reviews/shelves will the the cover that shows in the search/book list. I'm going to go ahead and switch some of the info back to the original edition and update the newer one. Have a look-see to make sure it's good and let me know. Thanks!

Caro,

Can we not put in the original edition "Milo Banks and the Tower of Light"? I'm sorry, but this will just confuse people.

Can you please revert it to the way it was and get rid of the old covers? It's unnecessary to show the original because that looks like a totally different book, and honestly, I don't think people will mind.

Richard

Paula (paulaan) | 7014 comments Book covers and other details should NOT be changed once a book is published.

If a new cover is generated then a new edition of the book is added to GR.

Users want to shelve and review the edition of the book they read, that includes the book cover and most users mind VERY much when the cover on the book they shelved is changed

Missy,

The correct title is Savant. I'm not sure why we had to add "Milo Banks" back on there, since I made this change before Goodreads was acquired by Amazon and all of these new rules were created. So far, no one has minded that I changed the title/cover of "Milo Banks..." to "Savant."

I made this change for marketing purposes, and it's my right not to have something posted that gives the wrong impression about the book's target audience. I would like these changes to revert to what they were a few days ago. This "update" to include the old cover and title are not only unnecessary but also damaging to the brand I'm trying to create with the new cover and title.

If this was your book, I'm sure you would feel the same. Please remove "Milo Banks and the Tower of Light."

Thank you,

Richard

Thalia (thaliaanderson) | 259 comments I think it's always been GR policy to simply create new editions for title changes and cover updates post original publication. I think it's possible to make the default cover/edition the one you want, but the old edition must stay on GoodReads since it's already been published.

Richard, Goodreads does not delete out of print editions or works. This has nothing to do with Amazon; it has been our policy for at least as long as I have been a member (2007).
