Michael Carroll | 1 comments Hi Fellow Portis fans,
I'm rounding home in my Portis books, after Escape Velocity I only have Gringos left to read, and I'm wondering what other authors I should try to do next. Obviously no one will write quite like him, and obviously this is all subject to individual taste, but what do you guys recommend? Larry McMurtey? Flannery O'Conner? Some obscure Twain? What do you think, folks? Thanks!

Hi, Michael:

How about Michael Malone? He even wrote a review review of Gringos.

Also, you might like Little Big Man, A Confederacy of Dunces, or P.G. Wodehouse.
