Is the Pretty Little Liars series a good read?

I was just wondering if you guys enjoyed it i want to read it but don't really know if I'll like it or not:)

On its own, going in with no preconceptions, I think the books are a good read. I, however, saw the television show first, and the books are so different from the TV show and what I was expecting, I only read the first in the series.

That said, the first was a well written, engaging book. There is just a major difference between the TV show and the book. Because I'd started with the television show first, I decided to simply stick with that.

One last note. I do love the book covers for the series. The first time I saw one in the bookstore, I stopped in my tracks to pick it up. Very eye catching.
