The Room of Requirement
Nicolas smiled widely. "A command can be easily disobeyed. Otherwise, what's they point of giving it?" he said, placing his hands behind his back.
"Now, since the Ball is almost upon us and we have so little time to prepare..." he said and left his sentence midair.
He took out his wand and he could sense Skylar body tensing up, as if she was a little scared. Nicolas' smile widened at that; Skylar Harlow was proving to be a worthy pawn, always ready for the worst.
He moved his wand around and the dress in front of them was folded carefully and placed in a light box that appeared out of nowhere. It then floated toward Skylar and remained in front of her, waiting to be received.
"This is what you'll be wearing." he said.

Skylar relaxed a bit when she realized he wasn't going to hex or jinx her and smiled, taking the box carefully. "It's beautiful... but are you sure it's alright to take it? It must be in here for some reason or another." She said, biting her lip slightly. What if the dress was cursed? Neither of them had touched it so they wouldn't know but what if she went to put on the dress and nearly died from a curse laid over it?
Though something told her Nicolas would've been able to tell if it was cursed or not. She really didn't have another choice. She wasn't good enough at Transfiguration yet to change one of her dresses to be suitable for the Waltz. Plus the dress was so beautiful.

Nicolas shook his head. "If you're wandering whether it is cursed or not, you should seize your worries." he said with confidence.
He took a step forward and placed his hand on the box. "This dress was made by none other than a Hogwarts student. She had made it for herself during the previous Triwizard Tournament, when the Chosen One still roamed these halls."
Nicolas smiled at the mention of Harry Potter; people like him lost back then but yet he could not help but admire the life he led.
"The girl was a snobby and mean Ravenclaw, who was never liked by others. A few weeks before the Yule Ball, she placed the dress in here casting a protection spell so that no one would even be able to curse the dress in an act of vengeance against her.
When she returned to find it, the Room never appeared again. She had nothing else to wear of course, so she bullied some 4th years to make her a new one. Of course, it never reached this one's beauty." he continued.
Nicolas started walking again, this time toward the exit. As he walked along the path, he gestured Skylar to walk beside him.
"This dress was made from someone horrible; yet its beauty is unparalleled. She did not deserve her own creation and the Room sought to that."
He took the box from Skylar's hands. "Here, let me hold this for you." he paused. "You see, Ms. Harlow, you deserve to wear this. More than any other. Not simply because your beauty will add to it, but because the Room thought it appropriate and dropped it in our path. And it's revenge, someone kind-hearted should be it's first owner."

Skylar blushed at his compliment. She also wondered how he knew so much about the origin of a random dress in the Room of Requirement. Skylar wondered why he took the dress if he wanted her to wear it.
"Alright. So... what's the plan for the Waltz? Do you wanna meet up or are you going to pick me up? Sorry for the questions, I just... I've never been to a dance before." She said sheepishly and looked down.

((By the way, I added you to this group about this story that I created! Please check it out :D Oh he took the dress to carry it for her until they leave, you know, like good manners of a gentleman))
Nicolas truly wondered how had that girl been indifferent to people. It was frustrating. Had she been here in Hogwarts from the beginning, he was sure she would magnetize everyone.
"Of course I will pick you up." he said, releasing a soft smile. They had reached the giant door. Nicolas waved his wand and the door opened, leading to the familiarity of the corridor.
He let Skylar walk by him and then he followed her outside.
"At 8 o'clock sharp, Ms. Harlow.' he said, giving her back the box. "I will be there."

((okay. What group?))
Skylar smiled and blushed happily. She took the box back and smiled at him. "I'll be waiting. 8 o'clock." She smiled happily. "I'll see you then." She told him and bit her lip, debating whether or not she should kiss him on the cheek or something.

((If you go to 'My groups' in your profile, you should be invited!!))
Nicolas then took her hand and kissed it gently, as he bowed his head a bit.
"Please take care until then, Ms. Harlow." he said, giving her another of his dashing smiles.
He raised his head then, gently leaving her hand drop out of his.
"Thank you for the lovely evening."

Skylar blushed and smiled sheepishly, wishing he didn't send her heart beating faster by the smallest things, Aka his smile and touch.
"I will, and thank you for the lovely walk and the dress. I never know what is gonna happen when I go into that room." She said and smiled and bit more confidently, no longer blushing, and turned and walked to her dorm, her heart still racing.

"Neither do I." he whispered and let Skylar be on her way. He then turned his head and stared at the now empty stone wall.
What an evening indeed... he thought.
Who would have thought that of all the precious and irreplaceable things that the Room of Requirement holds, it'd be a simple girl that Nicolas was looking for.
Skylar Harlow., he thought and walked in the shadowy corridor, heading to the Dungeons.
You are the reason the Room appeared to me. And I'll make sure you'll always be at my side.
With that last and sinister thought he disappeared.
((THANK YOU so much for RPing, I honestly get goose-bumps everytime I RP with Nic, and Skylar makes him even more awesome to RP with :D Loved this!))

((Let me help you :P He's evil, intends to use Skylar to get info on the Anderson's and maybe have her as a hostage. BUT, with all their conversations, and everything that will happen he'll start caring for her and won't want to harm her. But he's still a double-life snake. Maybe his relationship will influence him, who knows? ;) ))
Skylar smiled a bit as she approached the Room of Requirment with Thomas. She was glad to finally have a friend from her house and a friend who wasn't Nicolas. Not that she didn't enjoy and ove being around Nic, but she knew at some point they would get on each others nerves or need a break from each other to keep from going insane and killing each other. It was just natural.
Thomas turned to her. "Okay, so in order to get in, you have to think really, really hard about what you want. Then walk past the portrait of the dancing trolls three times, and it should be there," after an understanding nod from Skylar, Tom went on.
"Let's think of... somewhere to get work done. So just think 'somewhere to get work done' in your head over and over. Alright, close your eyes, and take my arm," he finished, and they both closed their eyes.
The hallway was empty, and they're footsteps walking back and forth echoed around the silent corridor.
Somewhere to get work done.
Somewhere to get work done.
Somewhere to get work done.
On their third turn around the hall, they stopped, and opened their eyes. An ornate door had appeared in the wall, and Tom and Skylar grinned.
Tom held the door open, and they both crept inside.

Skylar told grinned as she walked in and gasped, her eyes widening in amazement. The room was like an old school inside observatory with a couch and table and pillows underneath so they could look up at it while working.
"This is incredible! I had no idea the room could do something like this!" She exclaimed and laughed a bit in amazement. And went over to the table and put her bag down.

"This isn't even the best I've seen it do," Tom said, marveling at the shelves of books that stretched as far as the eye can see. He itched to pick up a fat book that was titled The Physical Universe: The Magical Aspects of Astronomy.
Thomas strode around the room, looking at the array of telescopes set up against the west wall. They were beautiful, and even though Tom didn't like astronomy, he could appreciate these.

Skylar smiled and ran over to the bookshelf and picked up all the Mythology and Myths on Stars books she could carry and went back over to the couch.
"Alright.... how to start...." she said softly and looked up at thomas. "Any ideas where to begin?" She asked.

Thomas reopened his own textbook, and picked up the Magical Aspects one as well, propping them open against a beanbag, and pulling out his scribbled on piece of parchment. Crumpling it into a ball, he through it into a corner, and just before it touched ground, a trash bin appeared.
"Nope," Tom said as he dipped his quill into his ink, and held it right above the paper. "Um... well. Myths..." he trailed off, flipping through a book of myths that had popped into existence next to his elbow.
He looked at the table of contents. "Well, the Greek goddess of stars is called Asteria, and the Egyptian one is called....Nut," he paused, "What a peculiar name," he added, smiling.
"We could maybe just kind of base our legend or myth off of one of these goddesses, like kind of make some folk tale out of it," Thomas suggested, tapping his quill against his chin.

Skylar thought about it for a moment and smiled happily and nodded. "Alright, let's do that." She said and opened the Greek Mythology Book and turned to the section on Asteria.
"I'll do Asteria if that's alright? My parents took me and my brother to Greece when my brother turned became an Auror so I have some background with it." She said and smiled a bit, though there was a bit of sadness in her eyes when she thought of her brother.

Tom smiled. "That's very cool. I think I'll do that too, and Merriwether can't accuse us of copying, the stories will be different," he dipped his quill again, and began writing.
"I've always wanted to visit Greece, but we don't really have the money for it..." he said sadly, shrugging. "I haven't been very many places at all," he lied, for he'd traveled through almost all of Europe, and parts of America, doing work for the Corps. Of course, Skylar could never know all that. But it was true, he'd never been to Greece, and he had wanted to.

Skylar smiled a bit as she wrote with her favorite Thunderbird feather Quill her parents face her after she was sorted at Ilvermorny.
"It's a lot of fun. Turns out Greek Mythology to the Muggles is actually Wizarding History. All their gods were actually tribes and/or famous wizards. Many of their leaders were wizards as well." She told him and smiled, continuing her work.

Thomas pretended to be surprised. His eyebrows rose. "That's incredible, I haven't studied mythology as much as I wish I have," he lied again, for he was almost flawless at myths, especially Greek and Roman ones. He applauded himself for the show he was putting on.
"I know a little about Roman myths, but as I said, not much," he added, looking back and forth from the book as he copied down a quote he intended to use for his story. "This truly is ever so interesting, even though my paper is probably rubbish," he said sheepishly.

Skylar smiled a bit. "I'm sure you're not giving yourself enough credit. It's probably a lot better than you think. My brother always said 'You're your own worst critique.'" She told him and smiled warmly.
While she missed her terribly, she had fond memories of her brother. And, with her making more friends and not feeling so lonely, it was easier to remember him happily rather than sadly.

Thomas frowned slightly, then smiled. "That's a really cool thing to say, and it's true," he said, chuckling. "But, in this case, I'm positive that this paper is ridiculous," he chortled, folding the first draft and shoving it into his pocket.
Smoothing out a new fresh piece, he began rewriting his introductory paragraph.

Skylar frowned a bit but also knew that the first draft usually was bad. She other softly and went back to writing. She wished they had music or something to pass the time.
Just as she thought it, auddenly music filled the room. It was a kind of swing dance. Skylar gasped and grinned happily. "Oh my gosh, I love this song! It's a swing dance. My brother taught me how. Come on." She said and stood up happily. "A break can usually help."

Thomas stood uneasily. He'd learned to dance, of course, but he wasn't used to doing it in a room that no one knew existed, with someone he'd just met. It's for the Corps. For the corps. He convinced himself, and brushed off his jeans.
Skylar smiled a bit. "Don't worry, it'll be fun! And swing dancing is really easy. Like this." she said and showed him how to do it. "One two, one and. One, two, one and." She said as she showed him the steps.
((Sorry! I'm here))
Still keeping up the awkward pretense, Tom stood up and took her hands in the position she had demonstrated. The music started the song over, and Skylar started leading them around the room.
Tom wasn't an amazing swing dancer, but he knew the basics, and Skylar definitely knew as much, if not more, than he did.

Skylar smiled a bit and noticed he didn't exactly seem relaxed. "Relax. It's just for fun. But we can stop if you want to." She told him. She just loved dancing, but never got the chance. Especially since they moved.
Matthew used to take her dancing on the weekends to a local wizard Jazz Hall. And when her brother had been alive, she and her brother and parents would dance around to old songs and stuff all the time. She had to admit she really missed it. Nowadays all her mother's smiles were pained and held hidden sadness. And her father was never home while she was. Or if he was he would hole up in his office.

"How did you learn to dance?" Tom asked, plopping himself back into a bean bag by a fireplace that he swore hadn't been there a second ago.
He spread his papers onto his lap, and began scrawling again. "My parents always had me take ballroom lessons, but I never really got the hang of it,"

Skylar smiled a bit and sat down in another beanbag chair happily and grabbed one of her books. "My taught me and my brother when we were little. And my old boyfriend used to take me dancing at an old Jazz Hall." She told him and went back to work.
She frowned slightly at the memory of Matthew. She still hadn't gotten any letters from him. She was beginning to get worried. But she wasn't sure why. She broke up with him, why should she miss him so much?

Thomas nodded. "That's great. I wish I had more opportunity to dance nowadays, but sadly I don't. School has completely taken over my life," he lamented, not mentioning that the main cause of his business is the Unseen. And he did have many chances to dance, he went to many social events on weekends and over holidays to check up on spies.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up any hard feelings," Tom added, seeing that Skylar looked a little far away.

Skylar shook her head and smiled. "It's fine... just missing someone back in America. Well, I guess now at Durmstrang." She said and looked down. She then looked back at Thomas.
"Tom? What's the likely hood of a letter from Durmstrang being intercepted?" She asked, wondering if someone had taken the letter while trying to track down the people attacking wizards and such.

Skylar's question took him by surprise, and Tom gave her a hard look. "Was the letter going to or coming from Durmstrang?" he asked slowly, a realization coming over him. Matthew...Skylar. Matthew and Skylar. Thomas suddenly realized he'd seen Matthew stuffing away a paper into his coat pocket when he'd met him earlier that day. Could this be it?
"How long ago was it posted?" he asked, creasing his eyebrow.
"How long ago was it posted?" he asked, creasing his eyebrow.
Skylar sighed softly and tucked a strand of hair. "Comjng from but it is possible it was taken on the to there journey. I sent it two months ago.... then another two weeks ago when I didn't hear back..." she said softly and sighed a bit, sadly.
Tom sighed. "Can you think of anything inside the letter that might have been worth anything? Anything...incriminating at all?" He asked casually, wanting to know the state of her relationship.
"Or, is your ex boyfriend someone who's letters someone would want to intercept?" Skylar looked at him a little hurt.
Raising his hands in defeat, Tom answered, "I'm just spitballing here."

Skylar sighed and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "I'm not sure it's about Matthew. I haven't been getting any letters from my parents or family either. I think..... I think it might be about my brother's murder." She said softly.
She looked up at Tom a bit fearfully. If whoever murdered her brother had followed her family to Europe.... what if her family was in danger? What if she was? Was she safe in Hogwarts? Were her friends?

Tom pretended to sober up. "I'm so sorry Skylar, I didn't know," he said, and felt as if he should show some sign of comfort, or remorse but he wasn't sure how.
"That's terrible," he repeated, and looked at his feet. "You know what? Forget I said anything. I'll help you find your letters to Matthew, and try to find out what happened to him." he paused, looking at Skylar.
"Is that okay?"

"Is that okay?"
Skylar smiled a bit and nodded. "Y-yeah. That would actually be really helpful. Thanks Tom." She said and smiled, glad she had a friend to help her.
She took a shaker breath and smiled. "We should get back to work." She said and immediately went back to her paper.r
She took a shaker breath and smiled. "We should get back to work." She said and immediately went back to her paper.r
"Yeah, of course," Thomas said slowly, thinking of the owl he would write to Natalia the moment he got out of the room. He was too afraid to face Matthew right away, not until he knew exactly what had transpired between Skylar and Matthew, and anything he could about the murder of Skylar Harlow's brother.
He had so many questions.
He had so many questions.
Skylar went back to writing, but her mind kept wandering to Matthew and the Letters and her brother's murder. Soon enough, rather than doing a constellation on a greek myth. It ended up being inspired by her brother.
Skylar blushed and gasped slightly at the beautiful blue dress. She couldn't think of why anyone would hide it in here. She smiled and Nicolas and cocked an eyebrow and let a bit of a smirk blend into her smile. "That sounds more like a command than request." She said and then giggles slightly before nodding. "But yes, I would love to go to the Waltz with you." She said with a smile.
Something inside her, the part that was scared from being hurt and betrayed her entire life, told her not to trust him fully. The part of her heart that had broken and warped from years of bullying told her to look before she jumped. But, another part of her told her that it was worth the risk. That there was something at the bottom of the leap of faith. Skylar just had to decide what part of her heart to listen to.
