Stephanie (sbez05) | 30 comments I don't know if this series really has a name, per se, but the books so far are as follows: Sloppy Firsts A Novel, Second Helpings A Novel, Charmed Thirds, Fourth Comings, and Perfect Fifths A Novel.

I've only read the first two so far, but I love this series! The books tell the story of Jessica Darling from junior year and all the way into college (maybe further? I don't know how far they go as I've only got the first two under my belt with the third waiting patiently on my shelves). They're hilarious, though! I highly recommend these for anyone who can remember the struggle to find yourself in high school and the growing pains that come along with it.

Stephanie (sbez05) | 30 comments Boo! No one has read these? Hop to it, people! :) They're such fun reads - I flew through them!

April (booksandwine) | 312 comments I've only read the first two. I really liked Jessicar Darling. She was smart, witty, and fun taste in music, heyy new wave!

I definately want to read the rest of the series, but my TBR is probably at least 50 feet tall.

Angela I have read all of them and really, really love them. I just finished her latest one Perfect Fifths.

Alexis (alexabexis) I read the first three and really liked them. I preferred Sloppy Firsts and Second Helpings, though. I wasn't crazy about Jessica's behavior in Charmed Thirds.

Ashley (angelashly) | 23 comments I have read them all. I really liked them. I think Charmed Thirds was my favorite which I guess makes me weird since most don't like that one.

Stephanie (sbez05) | 30 comments I read Charmed Thirds and while I liked it, it was probably my least favorite of the three I've read so far. It's still a fun series - I'm excited to see where it goes from here. :)

Natalee (nataleem00) | 459 comments I just found Sloopy Firsts in my closet. Not sure how I got it but it sounds good. I'm going to give it a shot soon.

message 9: by Jennifer (new) - added it

Jennifer (JenJen1221) | 623 comments I want to read this series and I finally found it (I need to get it still). I was looking in the YA section, but the bookstores here have it in the regular fiction area.

Michelle | 7 comments I love this series! I adore the first two books--when I read them, I couldn't believe how many times I laughed out loud. Honestly, the 3rd and 4th books were a little tougher for me.

I think the fifth book is aptly titled because it is PERFECT! Possibly my fave in the whole series :)

message 11: by Lani (new) - rated it 3 stars

Lani (crahfty) Perfect Fifths is definately my favorite book of the series! I fell in love with Marcus Flutie during the first two books and just wanted it all to be about Marcus and Jessica and the fifth book satisfied that craving. I just wish Marcus Flutie actually existed...

Lydia (loverofinformation) | 596 comments I just started the series. While I enjoyed Sloppy Firsts, I became tired of Jessica's voice by the end of Second Helpings. I really tired of her development of words to fit the situation and the constant view of the world through only her particular perspective.

Must admit I definitely got into Marcus right from the beginning; felt sorry for Len; and didn't like Scotty at all.

In any case, will continue reading.

Lydia (loverofinformation) | 596 comments Finally finished the series. The last three books are catalogued under general fiction at my library and I can clearly see why. I'm not fond of books that do not have rounded characters and I find Jessica to be a single (sex) factor character. I especially disliked the writing in the last book - the point of view switches, especially including the use of the omniscient perspective, the form switches, the long long stretches of dialog made for tedious reading - and I must admitting to skimming most of it.
