I believe I am interested in reviewing this for you, but I have a few questions first. Is the first book in the series a necessary read in order to be able to follow along in this one? Or, does the story stand alone long enough to just read the second?I ask because given the two week time frame and my current schedule, I don't know if I could add both to my lineup.

i have had many start with this one and go back to the first. i suppose it is a matter of preference. this one occasionally refers to things from book one but i dont believe it will be totally confusing without reading book 1. book 1 has also been in this read for review program and has some openings as well
