Ian (traveller1) | 10 comments I recall reading a long, long time ago, a serialised science fiction novel published in Analog SF mag (though it might have been in its predecessor Astounding).

The novel was a spaceship type adventure set in the far future. Humans had greatly extended lives. This ship travelled to the Magellanic Clouds, but was badly damaged and required decades of repair work before the ship could fly. Also dealing with strange aliens (cannot recall the details). It was a good read.

My memories link this with Poul Anderson, but not sure, nor could I find this novel on gr.

Any thoughts as to what it might be? You will have my eternal gratitude.

IS that the correct book Ian?

Andy | 2124 comments I should add that if you read it in serialized form the title would have been "The Ancient Gods" - "World without Stars" was the title in book form.
