I have heard lots of praises for Khaaled, but i have not read any of his book. I believe he writes sad stories, and i don't want to read another melancholy book abt Afghan ppl...

Maybe you could just give his books a try....they're really beautiful you know, I mean they're sad, but there's a beauty in that sadness....which make his books so awesome!

Completed the book.....wasn't much impressed by it. Doesn't come anywhere near to Hosseini's previous books...

Yes....agree with you. Even I've completed reading it....very unsatisfied with it. Can't believe he is the author of Kite Runner and TTS !!

yes it is really hard to believe , that he wrote KR and TTS

Completed, but nowehere near to the author's earlier works.. One advice, dont set up expectations and you may not end up getting disappointed. You will not fall in love with Abdullah and Pari, they way you did for Laila/Mariam or Hassan. Happy reading :)

A very touching and engaging novel. I love Khaled Hosseini!

This book was an okay read, but like others have said, not up to the standard set by Hosseini's earlier works.
