Nathan Ferrell | 2 comments I love coming of age supernatural stories. For some reason I have a hard time finding them. I have read IT. Fear. Boy's Life. Summer of night. The traveling Vampire Show. Something Wicked This Way Comes. Ghoul. I would appreciate any good suggestions.

Robert Mingee (robertmingee) | 776 comments Ronald Malfi's "December Park" and Peter Giglio's "When We Fall" are 2 good recent ones. You've read a lot of good ones already - Boys Life and It in particular are amazing. Not sure it really qualifies as coming of age, because the childhood scenes are all just flashbacks, but Greg Gifune's "The Bleeding Season" is also excellent.

Joe Augustyn The Nine Lives of Felicia Miller

This is a bit dark but it might be just what you want.

Mitzi | 5 comments The Day the Angels Fell by Shawn Smucker. It's a bit dark but I'm getting it for my 12 year old grandson.

Anthony Hains | 140 comments I enjoy this type as well. I'm cutting and pasting from a different post, but these still apply...
A Good and Happy Child
The White Devil
The Other
Lost Boy Lost Girl
The Boy Who Drew Monsters

J. Gowin Childhood's End

It isn't specifically horror, but it is a masterwork the "coming of age" story with supernatural elements.

Allyson | 3 comments Omg, The Tooth Fairy by Graham Joyce. It was amazing. I put off reading it for a long time because the title is kinda lame, but it was one of the best.

Danny Farham (dannyfarham) Allyson wrote: "Omg, The Tooth Fairy by Graham Joyce. It was amazing. I put off reading it for a long time because the title is kinda lame, but it was one of the best." The Tooth Fairy is an amazing book. I love all of Graham Joyce's books. If you haven't already, you need to read Year of the Ladybird. It's even better than The Tooth Fairy. It was released in the US under the title- The Ghost in the Electric Blue suit. Amazing coming of age tale

Laurie (barksbooks) (barklesswagmore) | 1471 comments Dark Sister by Graham Joyce is also amazing. But it's not a coming of age story.

But these two are:

Revival

Your House Is on Fire, Your Children All Gone

Boy's Life by Robert McCammon by Robert McCammon would have been my first suggestion, also The Awakening by Brett McBean , by Brett McBean if you want one with a "supernatural" touch.

The Awakening is on my to-be-read list.

You are not. I'll leave your post up and if anyone wants to click on your name, they can, but please refrain in the future.
Good luck to you!
