Simon was silent for a while. "What should we even talk about?"
"Ha I got it. What's your favorite food?" Sugar said while pointing her finger up in the air and smiling.
"Oh, don't ask me. Pizza?" he asked, while picking a strawberry. He ate it. "Or perhaps these strawberries; they're fantastic," he added.
Sugar giggled and picked a strawberry and took a bit. "Wow. These are pretty good. I'm surprised there is still strawberries. I would think everyone ate them all" she joked.
Simon smiled. "Okay, I think the Billy song is coming!" he announced for the world to hear. Nobody gave him a second glance. "Who's the greatest warrior ever? A hero of renown! Who slayed an Evil Ocean! Who cast the Lich King down!" He grinned as an Athena girl gave him a glance like 'are-you-even-sane'.
Sugar laughed. She jumped up with him and sang to. She even did a little dance. She giggled. This was fun. She spun around and circles as he sang.
Simon smirked. "You do realize people will think we're crazy, right?" he said. "Not like I care, or anything," he added.
"Oh who cares. They're just missing out on all the fun. And if we are insane. Then lets" sugar laughed and spun on her toe and then stopped and laughed some more.
Simon shook his head. "I never thought I'd meet someone with the same mentality as me," he said with a laugh.
Sugar smiled. She took a deep breath from laughing. "I'd never thought you'd be so fun" she told him. "I haven't had this much fun in days"
"I'm a Hermes kid," he said. "It's kind of in my nature."
"Still" sugar smiled she bent down and picked another strawberry and plopped it in her mouth.
Simon grinned and tapped his fingers in the beat of four. "Can you hear the drums?" he joked. "Are you ready?"
Sugar smiled and nodded. "Lets do this" she looked at him waiting for the start.
Simon was quiet for a while, then his voice went into the voice of a man from New Orleans, 1920s. "Don't you disrespect me, little man!" he said. "Don't you derogate or derive. You're in my world now, not your world; and I got friends on the other side!"
Sugar smiled and listened to him. She looked up at him. Wait was she supposed to say something ?
Simon grinned and continued. "That's an echo, gentleman, just a little something we have here in Louisiana, little parlor trick, don't worry. Sit down at my table, put your minds at ease. If you relax it will enable me to do anything I please." He frowned, then continued. "I can read your future, I can change it round some too, I look deep into your heart and soul - you do have a soul, don't you Lawrence - make your wildest dreams come true!"
Sugar smiled and started to clap. "Bravo. Bravo. Very well done" she looked up at him. Yes it was very well done' she thought. "You are good at that. Where did you learn.?"
"My mother. She used to sing a lot," Simon replied. "I don't know if she still does."
"I bet she does. I would love to met her. She must be a lovely lady" sugar told him.
"Perhaps you could, one day. Or..." He took out his drachmas. It was a perfect day and there was a small rainbow in the air. "O Iris, goddess of the rainbow, accept my offering. Show me Maria Stone." The face of a woman who looked a bit like Simon appeared in the mist. "Mum!" Simon said, waving. The woman looked up and smiled.
"Simon! And...who's with you?" she said.
"Simon! And...who's with you?" she said.
Sugar smiled she waved. "I'm sugar ma'am" she smiled and looked between the two. "You guys look alike"
Simon smiled. "So I've been told. So, yeah, mum, this is Sugar. Friend of mine," he said. His mother smiled.
"Of course. Friend," she said. Simon's eyebrows furrowed. What on eart was his mother implying?

Sugar smiled. "So Ms. Stone how you hear that we are having prom here?" She asked.
"I think Simon mentioned it in passing," Ms. Stone said. "And feel free to call me Maria."
Sugar smiled. "Okay. Will do Maria. Aren't you excited?" She was too excited.
"Yes. I presume you two are going as friends together, right, because Simon hasn't mentioned any female friends," Maria said. Simon went red.
Sugar laughed. "Well, he wanted to go as friends. He's going to be Peter Pan you know?" She asked she was smiling.
"I'm the one who gave him the costume." Simon frowned and passed his hand over the image. "Okay, then, goodbye!"
Sugar waved. "Goodbye Maria" she smiled. She turned to Simon. "I like your mom"
Simon smiled, but noticed someone passing with a sculpture of an angel in her arms. "Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back, don't look away, and don't blink."
Sugar didn't blink or move or look behind her. She was confused. Her eyes started to burn.
"I'm joking. Doctor Who reference," Simon said. "Don't worry, you can blink. Hmmm....there's a DVD player in Hermes cabin."
Sugar glared at him. She blinked. "Hmm. That was not funny you know? You had me scared there."
"Sorry," he said, raising his hands over his head in defeat. "Come with me. I want to show you something that'll make you understand the joke."
Sugar couldn't stay mad. She smiled. "Okay. Fine. Lead the way" she gave a chuckle.
((Continued in Hermes cabin.))
