Simon raced Sugar to the Strawberry Fields. He won, and he bent over, panting, and fell down under the shade of a beech tree.

Sugar came up behind him panting. Her hair in her face. "You. Are. Really. Fast" she panted inner wren each word.

"I'm a Hermes kid. It's kind of a given," he said with a grin. He patted the ground near him. "Just so we're clear, we're only going to the prom as friends, right?"

Sugar looked up at him. She sat beside him. "Friends. Right" she nodded. At least that's what she thought for now. She pushed her hair out of her face.

Simon hummed under his breath, not sure what to say.

"So. How long you been here. At camp I mean?" She asked as she started to braid her hair.

Simon, glad sugar had opened the conversation, replied, "Four years. You?"

"Oh just one" sugar shrugged and smiled finishing her braid
