"I've never been one to stay away from a fight," Annabeth said, "And Patrice is right, you're killing the strawberries."

Rix frowned. "I don't want to kill anything," he muttered, turning away. Thano growled angrily at them, since they made his master sad. "And I don't want to fight anything," he added, starting to walk off.((Bet you feel like a b!tch now, Annabeth.))
((Tsk tsk language rix! ;) ))
Annabeth squeezed her eyes shut, "Hey, wait up a second."
Annabeth squeezed her eyes shut, "Hey, wait up a second."
Rix's body was cold, like a corpse. He turned his head back, and looked at her. "What?" he asked.Thano growled at the girl hugging his master, thinking her unworthy of his touch.
"I-I'm sorry." It wasn't so easy for her to apologize because that was admitting she was wrong about something.
Thano growled louder and more menacingly, and normally Rix would've scolded him, but he was shocked."You are? B-but, you're one of the ones who practically think I kill people just by standing near them!" Rix accused, eyes widening in shock.
"Well can you blame me? Look at the fruit by your feet." Annabeth said, "But honestly I don't know you well enough to judge you. I made that mistake before." She said, thinking of her jealousy towards Rachel, who was now her best friend. Annabeth reached out and pulled Patrice back.
Annabeth smiled down at her.
Rix sighed. "Does Patrice seem harmed? No. The plants aren't strong enough to resist," he said, exasperated. "But, I suppose you deserve gratitude for rethinking your prejudice," he said, offering her his right hand, which was bare. His left had a black glove on it.Thano stopped growling, but still was in a defensive position, occasionally shooting small puffs of black fire from his nostril cartilage. He stopped when Rix extended his hand, recognizing the sign of friendship.
Annabeth reached out and shook his hand with a small smile on her face.
Rix's hand, like the rest of his body, produced little to no heat, like a corpse. It was the first test to gaining his friendship. Overcome his odd, dead-like qualities, or you'll hold his contempt for a long time.Thano observed silently, skeletal eye-sockets gazing at them, a void inside them, since the skinless, organless dragon had no eyes.
Annabeth didn't wince at the temperature of his hands. Nico was just as cold as he was, and over the years she had gotten used to it. Besides, each cabin had their own individual oddities that made them who they were. She had a quite few of her own.
Patrice didnt care that he was almost a zombie she was scared of thano because she thought the dragon would kill her
Rix let go of her, smiling softly. His glassy, gray eyes traveled to Patrice. "Come on, I'm not scary, am I?" he asked. "Boo!" he exclaimed quietly, almost a whisper.Thano shook with amusement.
"It's ok, Patrice," Annabeth said quietly.
Thano yipped happily, and trotted over to the girls, rubbing his skull against the blonde one's upper thigh, like a loving dog. He was larger than most, except hellhounds."See, Thano here's a big teddy bear," he said.
Annabeth chuckled and reached down to pet the top of Thano's head.
Thano tried to lick Annabeth's hand, but realized he had no tongue and simply brushed his jaw along it. His bony tail wagged, clattering softly."He really likes you," Rix mused, watching the two.
Annabeth smiled, "Really? I hadn't noticed." She said sarcastically.
"Where you going, Patrice?" Annabeth asked.
Thano's head fell off, having been knocked loose by the patting a bit. He yipped, waiting to be reattached to his body, which still wagged its tail.Rix chuckled, and reached down to pick up the dragon's head.
"Oh of course you're wanted! This is Camp Half-Blood, we're all family here remember?" Annabeth told her. She looked at Thano's disconnected head, "Does that happen often?"
Rix reconnected Thano's head. "It happens occasionally," he said, looking at Patrice. He didn't try to stop her. A lot of people left areas he was in so it wasn't abnormal.
Annabeth patted her shoulder, "Have you talked to any of the Hephaestus kids about that? Maybe they can build something to fix that."
"No need. He actually seems to enjoy it," Rix said, watching Thano return to snuggling Annabeth's leg. "Careful, Thano, that big hellhound O'Leary will come after you," he joked, laughing.
Annabeth laughed with him, "Mrs. O'Leary's just a big pile of fluff... with fangs.'
"This is true, although I've learned that Cerberus has a particular liking towards rubber balls." Annabeth said, continuing to stroke the top of Thano's head.
"I know. I had to play with him a couple times," Rix said, remembering a fragment of his past. The world shifted into black and white, and he paled more, nose beginning to bleed. He fell to his knees, clutching his head.
"Rix?!" She got down beside him, "Patrice, get some nectar!"
