The sun shined high in the clear sky, illuminating the ground beneath Jin and shrouding his body in warmth. Strawberries lined his path, all of them ripe and ruby red. He wasn't sure if the strawberries in Camp Half-Blood could rot, considering that the camp director was Dionysus. Either way, Jin was grateful for the perpetual spring air; cold weather always has the tendency to leave him feeling cold and alone.
His friends had coerced him here, telling Jin that 'there was a special someone he should meet'. From the very beginning, he knew that this was an arranged date. His mind was already starting to numb despite the fact that the date hasn't even begun yet. Jin hoped that, at the very least, this girl wasn't going to be annoying and clingy. He hated those types, the ones who expect their affections to be returned.
The tip of his Adidas snagged onto an outgrown vine, causing him to precariously trip and fall flat onto the dirt. Ugh, great. These were freshly washed clothes as well. Leveraging his hands on the ground, he tried to push himself back up, but ultimately failed. His left foot somehow became tangled with the vine.
This was humiliating.
Heaving a sigh, he cleared his throat and called for help.
"Hello?! Is anyone out there?! I'm trapped!" Jin belted his voice, hollering until he could feel the growing strain on his vocal chords.
Was this how he was going to end? Imprisoned by a vine? Gods, what did he do to deserve this? Jin was a good Samaritan (not really). He volunteered (lie, he picked up a piece of trash once, but then decided that it was too much of a hassle to bring it to a trash can and proceeded to drop it back onto the pavement.). He never made anyone cry (lie, he left relationships to burn and rot like three-weeks old steak.).
... Maybe, if Jin escapes this, he could learn to be a better person? Or maybe not (definitely not).
