She nodded, not looking down. She reached up to another handhold, slowly pulling herself up.
She grabbed it, and pulled herself onto the roof. "Thanks."
He grinned and cheered her on. "C'mon Lexi! If you don't mind me calling you that..."
"It's lex." She said quietly. Only Wes called her that, but Lexi sounded so... Dumb blonde.
"Lex, huh?" he laughed. "That sounds awesome! Like... Tyrannosaurus Lex! T-Lex!"
She giggled and stomped around, making dinosaur noises.
"Uh-huh! Like this!" He copying Ellie, holding his hand in front of him like a T-Rex and stomping around.
"RAWRRRR" She stomped around.
"IMMA EAT YOU FOOL!" he shouted, stomping towards Alexis. With his giant, exaggerated steps, he was moving pretty slowly. "IMMA COMING... JUST STAY RIGHT THERE..."
She giggled, taking a step back. It landed on thin air. "Whoa!"
He ran forward and caught her, pulling her away from the roof's edge. "Alright... Maybe T-Rex's don't belong on roofs.."
Ellie helped Connor grab her.
He shrugged. "Wouldn't want anyone falling to their deaths! Anyways, where are the flashlights?"
"I've got some here," she said, opening her bag.
She held out her flashlights.
"Sweet! I've got Mumbo-Jumbo flashlight!" He held it up proudly and added it to the pile. He reached in his pocket and pulled out the last "ingredient" for the prank. "Duct tape!"
She smirked. "Duct tape, the weapon of all ages"
"All we have to do it duct tape the flashlights together. Lex, can you hold them together?"
Connor grinned and flicked the duct tape forward like a whip, causing it to unravel. He started wrapping it around the bundle of flashlights.
She kept watching out for anyone.
She looked around. "Won't people notice us on the roof?"
"That's why I'm keeping watch!"
"How?" She looked around the totally exposed roof.
"Lie flat against the roof. If they don't see anything obvious, then people won't even give it a second glance," he said, continuing to wrap the flashlights with duct tape.
"I think we're done!" he said proudly. He needed to use both hands to hold up the giant flashlight-bouquet.
"We set up the spotlight, place the note, and then wait," he said mischievously. "Waiting can be boring, but believe me, it's worth it."
"Okay..." She said, a little unsure. It seemed to have a lot of holes in it.
