"Couldn't you do that with the sunlight?" Laila asked. "You could use the light to make figures on the wall too."

"What about shading? You know, light effects. Highlight one spot to make it look like it's protruding and you have a 3D shape." Laila tilted her head. "That's what I do."

Laila blinked. "What abilities do you have, then, if you can't control light? Are you a healer?"
(Hi!)
"So just because you can't manipulate light doesn't mean you're powerless. Healing is honestly a lot cooler," Laila shrugged.
"So just because you can't manipulate light doesn't mean you're powerless. Healing is honestly a lot cooler," Laila shrugged.

"Oh hey, the croissants are probably done!" Her amber eye's lit up as she darted over to the microwave. She puled out the croissants and set them down on her bed.
((Hey, you wanna maybe have the two of them go on a quest sometime in the future?))
(yeah, sure!)
"You don't need to have flashy magic to be powerful," Laila said. "My powers are all about subtlety, and they're still fairly strong."
"You don't need to have flashy magic to be powerful," Laila said. "My powers are all about subtlety, and they're still fairly strong."
Laila took a bite of croissant. "So's healing magic," she said. "It's a lot more helpful than summoning lights. You can save lives with your powers."

"Just because you can't summon magical light doesn't mean you can't power normal light," Laila said, thinking, "Maybe you could power a flashlight or something with your powers. You wouldn't need to summon light, just use your powers to boost a different source."

"Why not try it now I guess," She shrugged. Alina searched through one of her bags until she fished out a flashlight.
She closed her eyes and focused on the image of the flashlight turning on. A minute or two she opened her eyes to find that the flashlight still hadn't turned on.
"Darn it...." She muttered.
"Try pushing your power into the bulb. You have magic, try putting the essence of it into the flashlight." Laila knew a little bit about magic - she had some minimal Mist powers, and besides, her half-sister was Hecate. In a way.

She imagined the inside of the flashlight, the light bulb specifically. She imagined one of the small balls of light forming and pushing against the glass. The flashlight had started to flicker on and off.
She focused harder on the light until it magically appeared inside the bulb, causing the flashlight to turn on.
Alina opened one eye to look at the flashlight.
"IT WORKED!" She yelled in excitement, her eyes filled with sparks of gold. "How did you know it would work!?" She asked curiously.
"I guessed," Laila shrugged, smiling wryly. "I have a bit of Mist ability, so I understand the concepts of magic, and my mom is Nyx, so my godly half-sister would be Hecate. I figured since you couldn't form light the way your siblings do, and since your healing magic is more of a generating source rather than a manipulation, you would need something that could shape or carry the energy for you."

Laila frowned. "Maybe they know you too well. It helps to get other peoples' opinions because they can take different guesses."

"I don't know," Laila said, sitting down on the edge of her bed. "What do you want to do?"
(gtg, bye)
(gtg, bye)

"You can," Laila said after some hesitation. "I'm not one for...pranks."

"Lights to the Nyx cabin?" Laila asked wryly. "Okay..."
"Okay," Laila shrugged. "It's just kind of ironic." She had an idea. "Maybe I could make a Mist ball? Like a lantern, but Mist instead."

Laila flinched a bit, she didn't like being touched and was honestly wondering how someone her age could be so lively and excited.

((Idk how to describe it so ima skip the describing part))
His eyes locked on Aurora who was sitting on her bed calmly.
'Oh.. she's fine... Great. I should probably just go then...' Rowan sighed in relief and hesitantly started to close the door.

"No! No- I was going to ask your brother if you were here...... Where did you go?!"

"Well I didn't know that." He crossed his arms.
