message 4: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (drokka) | 211 comments I believe laurenpie is asking if it is a YA (Young Adult) story?
I agree though, it sounds good. I hope someone can recall this because I reckon I'd read it.

Adrii Facee | 4 comments Oh, I believe that it is young adult, yes. Lol. Sorry, don't really know all the lingo. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

Darcy (drokka) | 211 comments No worries. Took me a while to learn some of the short forms too. :)

Adrii--I've moved this down to Unsolved for you. You'll get more "traffic" down there.

What year did you read this? Also, are you sure it is YA? Does YA normally have a protagonist with a spouse?

Adrii, are you still looking for this?

message 11: by Andy (new)

Andy | 2124 comments Charlotte MacLeod's "Curse of the Giant Hogweed" has a character who was recently widowed going through a portal to Viking times.

The Curse Of The Giant Hogweed by Charlotte MacLeod for Andy's suggestion.

Andy | 2124 comments Bump. Adrii, was "Curse of the Giant Hogweed" right?

message 14: by Kathy (new)

Kathy | 56 comments This sounds like one of Tom Holt's surreal comic fantasies. He loves magic portals to other dimensions and time periods. I've only read his novels that are set entirely in the present or future, but he's done several that involve Vikings and barbarians. Who's Afraid of Beowulf? or Valhalla, perhaps?
