Well, I don't know how other schools do it, but my high school chooses a theme (this is year it's Movie Series) and each grade chooses something in that category. My grade chose Star Wars. So we made a lifesize Hans in carbonite XD

Last year, the theme for prom at the high school that I'll be going to was Greek. XD

Well, like I said, I don't know about other schools, but for us it's a week where the entire high school technically goes crazy over basketball. We chose a category, each grade chooses a specific topic, and then writes a play, makes a banner, and plans the hall. Thursday night we stay at school till 11 and decorate the hall. Friday we perform our skit. It's like a competition, and banner, skit, and hall get places. Seniors always win, though, no matter what. XD Then Friday night there's this giant b-ball game against our biggest rivals. Oh yeah, and throughout the week we get to dress up! Best part! Guess what Tuesday is XD

It's pretty awesome and ridiculously stressful for the people who do all the work (aka NOT the slackers; I hate them).
