I almost didn't find this book, as according to the cover (which you can clearly see illustrated) it was written by John W. Jennison. Who the hell is John Theydon? A pseudonym perhaps?

John William Jennison is the author's actual name. When writing the first two Thunderbirds novels (Thunderbirds & Calling Thunderbirds, along with Ring of Fire) he used the pseudonym of John Theydon. I don’t why, but he used the same name on his Stingray, Captain Scarlet and Secret Service books.

He also used a host of pseudonyms during the 1950's when authors were churning out short stories once a week, due to paper rationing after the Second World War.
