History: Mallory lived with her mother and her brother, Ethan. Her mother worked in the morgue as a medical examiner so she was always came home from work late. Her brother acted like the father figure of the house. Her mom started seeing someone who wasn't a good person. When Mallory was 13 and Ethan was 15, he moved into the house. When he was at home and her mother was away at work, he used to drink a lot. He started physically and verbally abusing Mallory. One night she got so fed up, she grabbed his arm so tight but didn't expect the life to literally drain out of him. Ethan and his mom had come home from buying groceries to find Mallory kneeling over his dead body, a horrified expression on his face. Her mother sent her to Camp Half Blood to get her away from the house as she didn't want her anymore. Ethan followed her there where he was claimed as the son of Hephaestus.

Suddenly the door of their water front home exploded. Laiyla grabbed Sena and held her close as a figure approached them. Her father charged at the figure with only a kitchen knife. “No Baba!” cried Laiyla as she watched her father get struck down by the figure. Now that it was closer she saw a beast rather than a man. Her father stood up stabbing the beast multiple times killing it. But he was gravely injured and was dying. As the life added from him he looked up at her and said, “My percious Laiyla, will you protect Sena.” she replied through her tears ,“Of course Baba.” Her father brushed away her tears and said “Cross your heart, hope to die, stick a needle in your eye?” Laiyla held her dying father close and smiled a bit to make him feel better "Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye,” she said, as she watched the light fade from her fathers eyes he used his last bit of strength to smile. Laiyla held Sena close and two cried until their throghts were sore. Later they both were found by a satyr and brought to camp.
