Well, after my own personal thinking (Kenzie and I already discussed this, but I figure I'd just let some people stir with some more ideas as well) I carefully read over each of the realms and their advantages as well as potential disadvantages. My thinking was that since each of the realms are so unique in physical attributes, one of the realms might develop into an elitist society (Marmor is the most militant and disciplined city, as well as the most ferocious, so I figured they'd become that society) and attempt to create an empire and conquer the other realms. The idea of them being led by a mad ruler is also a good idea, if not a little bit like Fire Emblem Path of Radiance :D.
But in the end, some of the realms prove to be more difficult at being conquered. Certain realms, such as perhaps Silva and/or Terrae, would already be conquered, whereas the much more difficult realms would attempt to band together to face off against this threat. That's where certain characters would come in. Since all the societies of this RP are distrustful of one another and really know almost nothing about one another, they attempt to send certain "ambassadors" mainly consisting of their own royal families to meet up and come to an understanding between the three(Whatever characters there are from Divum, Caligo, and Mare).
Meanwhile, in the conquered realms, I'm thinking that either there's a rebellion brewing in Silva and Terrae, the characters that are trying to topple their Marmorean masters from the inside, or a certain select group are forced into joining a saboteur group (led by my character, since he's the only marmorean.) into killing or capturing the ambassadors before they can create a formidable alliance.
That was my original plan. BUT! as I was typing this I also had a new idea form in my head. Perhaps, because all the realms are so wary and nervous of each other, they attempt to 'get to know' their neighbors better, by having an assembly meet at a certain location. Some of the realms truly wish to make peaceful relations, whereas other kingdoms wish to discover the weaknesses of each so they may exploit their disadvantages and conquer them. Certain things like that. Anyway, this one is just a toss around idea, but the one above was my main idea for a possible plotline: a world brewing in war as realms fall to the malevolent Marmoreans.

Go ahead!

I like.

I thought about how to include the non-royalty characters, and I decided that a select amount of servants, soldiers, attendants, and scholars would accompany them. It's the best way for them to 'get to know' one another both culturally as well as academically, ya know?
As for the location, I was pretty stumped for a while, but that strip of no-man's land is probably the best spot.

hmmm... I can think of several major plot points that could involve magic that could also merge with the plot. I'll toss out some ideas and hear the feedback.
Option A: There's a spell plague spreading across the kingdom. Those that hold any sort of ability are dying out due to this recent epidemic. It's a slow wasting sickness, simply sucking the energy from the magic users until they are dead. The realms have gathered not simply to know of one another, but to see if any cure can be found to save all magic users from being wiped from the face of the world.
Option B: (This one is a biiit more detailed... try to bear with me, cause I might be a bit scattered on this one) Besides being ruled by the royal family, some realms (or all realms if people want) are also ruled by a magic council, a group of individuals who locate people with abilities and take them under wing to maintain authority and control over the populace in this situation, I was thinking that either:
1) The council is infested with corrupted members who wish to create a society in which those blessed with abilities are supreme in comparison to those without abilities. They indoctrinate this belief into their discovered pupils and slowly create a brainwashed organization of users with abilities. Upon hearing that there are other realms with different abilities, this council may wish to reach out and expand their network by first discovering the details of such unique abilities that each realm has.
2- A 'dark council' exists to counteract the council, by focusing on producing chaos and simply exterminating all beings who are not 'blessed' with abilities as they are. It's a sort of eugenic approach versus a supremacist approach.
Option 3: The usual cliche where some dark entity seeks to cause chaos and corruption by causing magic users to go mad/corrupt and 'turn to the darkside' etc.
Option 4: Magic is failing in the world. Abilities are weakening with every generation and the realms aren't certain why. At some point they may discover that it is due to a sort of 'magic inbreeding'. The realms have only continued their lineage through their own people, thus weakening their magic, and the possibility of interbreeding may be a way to renew the strength of those blessed with abilities. This option would focus on a more... romantic plot, and as interesting as romance is... :P I am personally not in favor of this one.
Option 5: A religious faction rises up and proclaims that those with abilities are 'demonic and cursed' and seek to purge the world of these satanic beings. It's a realms witch hunt.
But yeah. I got more if you guys want, but those are a few. Thoughts?
I also didn't edit this. So... :P I'll just clarify any confusion

Hmmm... I just realized I transition from letters to numbers... right...

And though I know it isn't very helpful, I'm up for any of the ideas, except perhaps Option 4. Romantic plots aren't too fun.

I also hold personal preference to B1, but I can make any of them happen, so :p
What does the narwhal think? You seemed to hold the most interest in a magic plotline. Which option do you prefer?

So do you want me to hold off on my idea?
