Cat (kippycat) | 15 comments I read a book a few years ago (2007/8 maybe) but it seems like it was written a while before that. I was young at the time so I don't remember a lot about it.

It was my mom's and I picked it up and read it.

I could have sworn it was Flowers in the Attic because the premise seems similar and even the cover looked the same, so I recently bought that book and read it. As good as it was, it was not what I am thinking of.

But a lot of the writing seemed familiar making me to believe it might be by V.C Andrews after all.

What I remember is this:

A young girl, age probably somewhere from 12 to 15, told from her POV. Living in a huge, dusty, old house with a mean and scary grandmother.

Older brother, very into science and plants(?).

Does a scientific experiment where he records the growing size of her boobs. The grandmother finds out and is furious. (doesn't this resemble FintA a lot?)

That's pretty much all I have. I vaguely remember the mother was sick maybe, or like in shock. Wasn't really all there. I think.

Cat (kippycat) | 15 comments No I was not it unfortunately, but thanks for trying!

I actually went to the library today and did a little digging and found it myself.

Broken Flower was the book. I don't think i finished reading it on second thought because the ending of the summary seems completely foreign to me. Alas, a new adventure awaits. :)
