I thought specials was alright, but DON'T read extras....that was horrible!

Jennifer Harris | 64 comments Maximum Ride series by James Patterson

Just kept going on and on... stopped at book six

message 55: by Riya (new)

Riya I'm oging to go with Hunger Games. Loved the first two books and then the third was seriously TERRIBLE, I honestly almost put it down (which I never do)

Shannon (therivershannon) Debbie wrote: "Shannon why? :( I thought it was really good :/ ~.~"

It definitely wasn't something wrong with Scott Westerfeld's writing or anything like that. I just disliked the book because it seemed strange. I loved the original characters and I remember not connecting as much with the new ones in Extras.
I knew the series couldn't go on forever with the same characters, but it seemed to me that it was a random tie in to the original series.
Nevertheless, it was a long time ago, but I remember being really disappointed by this fourth book after reading the first three which I LOVED. (:
Maybe if I reread i would like it more...

Shannon (therivershannon) Gabrielle wrote: "I know this probably get said a lot but the very first book I read that didn't involve school was the Twilight series & ever since then I have been hooked on books."

Haha yeah I know a lot of people who say the same thing. My opinion is that any book that gets people to read more is a good book!

message 58: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Rodas | 9 comments Shannon you should reread it! Maybe you'll like it as much as I did! But I guess part of why I liked it so much in the first place is that it was placed in Japan and its my dream to go there:P but I also feel like it gave me more closure on tally and everyone :)

message 59: by Shira (new)

Shira (shiram) I definitely agree with the Uglies series by Scott Westerfield. I really liked Uglies and Pretties was okay, but Specials just annoyed me when it got stranger and stranger and I couldn't get past the first chapter of Extras.

message 60: by Riya (new)

Riya I never bothered with Extras although I really enjoyed the rest of the series

message 61: by [deleted user] (new)

Maximum Ride was ok at first but then everything stopped making sense and the writing was just really bad. I absolutely hated the ending.

message 62: by Riya (new)

Riya Definitely- I didn't even get past the first few books once Max and Fang split

message 63: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 2 comments I'm gonna get so much backlash for this comment, but I personally think that the Mortal Instruments series dragged on. I think it would have ended perfectly after the 3rd book like it was supposed to.

I love that series!

I read Matched, and tried to read on, but didn't like them..

Lennie wrote: "Ya I liked the second one best but I hated the last and the first was meh all right"

i couldn't finish the second!!

message 67: by [deleted user] (new)

I know I am going to be hated on, but I have to say it, I didn't really freak out for the last two hunger games books. I LOVED the first, the second was ok and then the third was better. I liked the series in general, but it wasn't exactly my favorite series!

message 68: by Riya (new)

Riya I read the first matched book, but I definitely couldn't continue the series- it was BAD :P

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

I quit Matched after 20 pages. I felt the plot was just way too predictable.

message 70: by Riya (new)

Riya Yeah- my librarian said it was like her favorite book ever so I finished it, and it was just bad!!!

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

Matched was SOOOOO boring!

I would have to say mine is Warriors. I still like them, but I feel like the series is just getting to long and I can't keep up anymore.

The third series was my favorite, the fourth series was...it was shaky, and while I liked the last three books the first three were bad IMHO. But I always love their super editions! :)

I think they should make a series about Skyclan-or another super edition.

Definitely. I actually plan on going back to read those. I remember when I was in 5th grade I literally read one a day. Wow I was crazy!

I know right. It was a really good series. They just need to bring out the last part Strange Fate already.

My first Warriors book was Firestar's Quest because my friend lent it to me, and I read all 500+ pages in a day! I was hooked on those things xD

And really? That's funny cause I'm not big into contemporary or romance books, but I actually loved that series!! It was a lot better than I thought!

It seems like Divergent might be a trilogy that took a turn for the worse. I haven't read Allegiant, but the reviews make it sound like a love or hate book.

Alva | 20 comments Victoria wrote: "House of night (dragged out) and Evermore series(hated but couldn't stop reading and don't know why)."

Oh my! One of my friends started reading Evermore and got so angry and anoyed with this series! She hated them so much, despite that everytime we went into our local bookstore, she found out that there's a new Evermore-Sequel. "NOOOOOO!!!! NOT ANOTHER ONEE!", and then she grabed and bought it. She said, that she had to finish the series because she just wanted it to end.

I guess there has to be something so bad, that you have to keep on reading to finish with its badness.

message 95: by Dani (new)

Dani (euriella) | 5 comments 1) Divergent
2) Artemis Fowl

- Okay, starting with Divergent. I loved the first two books, but just.. Jesus Christ. Looking back, I tried so hard not to hate the last book, but I couldn't. The book as a whole, not just the ending, was extremely inconsistent and all around bad. Read my review if you want more thoughts because I don't wanna give spoilers, but man... deeply sighing right now.

- Artemis Fowl, to me, was INCREDIBLY boring. It was painful, really, and I didn't even finish the first book, found myself reading the end to figure out if it was worth it. I seriously could not stand any of it. Artemis seemed like too much of an arrogant jerk, and that one other girl (Molly? Holly?) was annoying anyway.

message 96: by Dani (new)

Dani (euriella) | 5 comments H99 - I know. I read that already. And really, it doesn't make a difference in my opinion. She addressed the main problem, but my problem is with the whole thing.

message 97: by readeraz (new)

readeraz (zoethereader) | 13 comments I can see why you guys don't like allegiant very much, but I actually really liked it. As one of this BIGGEST divergent fans in the world, It was really hard for me to deal with, I cried so freaking much. But the book was really good, it had so much meaning and so much power. It was truly amazing.

message 98: by Dani (new)

Dani (euriella) | 5 comments Zoe - I don't know. To me, the pace was slow, the events tired, and the theme... just no... again I don't wanna spoil so y'all can pm or comment on my review or something, but really, I couldn't stand it. The double POVs was also an extreme hassle and had some major foreshadowing considering the first two books were from Tris's POV.

message 99: by readeraz (new)

readeraz (zoethereader) | 13 comments Dani- Even though there were a few flaws in the book, I still love the way she writes. Her use of character development throughout the book was incredible, and the way she ended the series was different from every other author. I thought it wasn't as action packed as Divergent, but the whole concept of "what's beyond the fence" blew my mind. It will always be one of my favorite series. Oh and you can check out my review as well if you like.

message 100: by Dani (new)

Dani (euriella) | 5 comments Zoe - yeah, normally with the Divergent series there are a few mind boggling flaws that I'll look past, but this time there were just too many. My biggest issue was all the info dumping going on the whole time. It was WAY too much presented to be explored and understood in as little as 544 pages. And it wasn't compelling, either. I found myself wondering why I even cared.
