Toshka sat down feeling a little left out. He wasn't sure if he should leave or not but these vampires probably would go hunting sooner or later and he was starving. But he felt a little too shy to ask them anything else. So he just sat there watching. For a few seconds, he looked off to the side thinking that somebody was there. It was dark but nothing seemed to move. Shaking his head, Toshka looked back at everybody while nibbling at his lip while waiting for something to happen.
Michael listened to Vanessa and Edward talking. They were always the serious ones. He knew there wouldn't be any way for him to help anything, so he went to sit by Alexis."So, I saw you talkin' to Edward. Is everything okay? You seemed pretty sad." Michael knew that Alexis liked to be cheery, and he liked that, because she was like a sister to him. Even though he hadn't known her for very long.
"I'm okay. Hey, maybe we should go and talk to Toshka. He seems pretty lonely sitting there, and we should get to know him better." Alexis walked to Toshka and sat across from him.
"Hi! I'm Alexis! This is Michael! I know that Edward and Vanessa might have scared you a bit, but they're actually good people. Well, vampires. Anyway, we just wanted to see if we could get to know you a little bit better.
Michael gave Toshka a look that was like it was saying, She's just always like that.
"Don't mind Alexis's craziness. She's just always cheerful and happy and like this." Michael knew Alexis wanted him to say something since he had agreed to go and be "friends" with him.
There was something about Toshka that Michael didn't understand. Why did he alway look at Michael as though Toshka knew Michael from before?
((Um just so you know...Toshka knows pretty much nothing about his past. He knows bits and pieces of his vampire life but nothing really at all. Sorry. Michael can recognize him but Toshka...can't. It's important to his character in my story though))"Hi I'm Antoshka," he said putting a hand out not sure if he should introduce himself again. "No. They're fine. I'm not very good--I'm not good socially. Um so what kind of vampires are you? I'm not really sure where I am see I can--I can...never mind."

"Oh, and to answer your question, we are vegetarians." said Michael.
They traveled along for several days. Talking became more frequent, but still scarce. The mysterious dark creature decided to keep following them. He had decided that both of the girls would serve as proper bait. He would capture the brunnte, knowing that the blonde would soon come after her. Then he would trap her. The question was when and how.
Toshka kept scanning the area. He always felt as if somebody was hiding in the shadows. But every time he looked, nothing was there. Maybe it was his lost thoughts--what he was running from or maybe there was a real threat. He shook his head before running to catch up with the other vampires."Is it just me or does anybody feel like we're being followed?" asked Toshka throwing a glance over his shoulder. Then he mumbled to himself, "I must be going crazy."

"How about we stop and make camp? said Edward.
"Alright," said Vanessa.
They all found a nearby cave and camped out. The creature in the shadow saw the perfect oppretunity. They were all lying in the cave asleep. The creature sanced in and out of the shadows of the cave. He was about 20 feet from where they were sleeping. He had it all planned out. He would gag the girl and put her into the large burlap sack that he carried in his hand.

She cringed when she saw the building housing Alexis's coven appear on the horizon. It was a two-story log-cabin style home. Too cozy.
The sun was fully set. Vanessa realized she hadn't had anything to eat, and now she was pissed.
"That is where you live? How many?" she asked Alexis a bit sharply.
Alexis hesitated to reply. "There are four in my coven, including me. All vegetarian."
"UGH!" Vanessa groaned. Hell no! "I think I will be staying outside!"
"Come, now, don't be so antisocial!" Edward insisted. Damn, why'd he have to have such a velvety voice?
She looked around. Toshka seemed out of place, yet somewhat comfortable with the fact he was with many others.
"Look, Eddie. I'm not exactly thrilled with the thought of staying with seven vampires. I've been alone my whole life..."
Edward chuckled. What the hell? "I live with six other vampires and my human girlfriend. You think you're going to have it rough!"
Something caught Vanessa's attention. She looked over at Alexis, who seemed crestfallen. She knew that look. The stupid blondie was in love with Edward. How perfect!
((How the hell were they asleep? They don't sleep at all. Remember?))Michael spoke up, not wanting to attract attention from anyone that might pass by the cave.
"Maybe you can try one day. If you really don't like it, then you can come back to your little cave. It's just that I feel like something is following us. Toshka asked earlier, but I didn't feel it then. It's dangerous. We don't know who or what is following us." Michael told all the vampires in his most serious voice.
"It could be the enemy, and we do not want to see him." Alexis whispered. She scooted away and went to sit stand by Michael.
She knew that he was one of the people that actually understood how much she liked Edward.
"Fine." Vanessa snapped. "But if I don't like it there, then don't expect me to come back to you guys. Especially you. I have to warn you that I will not have pity on your little girlfriend" She said pointing at Edward.
"Okay then, lets go. Alexis you can lead us to the place!" Michael said.

"Here we are!" said Alexis as they stood in front of the shack.
"This is it? It is not much." said Vanessa.
"It is a place to stay so the enemy can not find us." said Edward as he shot a cold look at Vanessa.
All the others went out to get food, leaving Vanessa and Alexis home by themselves. Vanessa kept walking back and forth. She felt an evil presence. Alexis was lying on the floor humming and twiddling her thumbs. Suddenly, the door bursted open. A dark figure stood in the doorway. Alexis lunged at the shape. She was knocked to the floor with what seemed like an impossible amount of force. The creature then started to slowly walk towards Vanessa.

Alexis stirred. What was strong enough to knock out a vampire? Vanessa shuddered at the thought. "Help! Anyone?" she called out frantically.
No one answered.
"I thought she lived with three others!" Now the thing was coming at her.
She saw something glint...a light in the thing's eye...
Michael jumped on the creature's back. Edward had heard Vanessa's and Alexis's fear, and had come with Michael to help them. Michael didn't understand why the creature was after Vanessa. Had she done something to a different clan to have them after her?"Let's burn him, we don't know what he'll do if recovers from being unconscious." Edward snarled.
The others agreed, so they shredded him and threw him into a fire that was quickly made. Michael was glad to see that everyone was safe, and no one had gotten hurt.
He went to sit by Vanessa, who was still in shock.
"Are you okay?" Michael asked with concern.

Michael blinked. "Am I not supposed to or something?"
Vanessa rolled her eyes and let out an exasperated sigh as she stomped out the door and sat by the outer wall. It was raining now, but she didn't care. Besides, having raindrops down her face felt great, since she could never cry.
Michael walked out the front door and walked right past Vanessa. He walked by without even glancing at her. He was so mad that he started to run away. He didn't know where he was running to, but just ran in one direction.He sat down in the forest and soon felt Alexis's presence near. She sat down by him when she got there. Michael and Alexis just sat there in silence for a while, and finally Alexis spoke up.
"I know how you feel. You need to just ignore her when she yells at you and be yourself." Alexis said to Michael.
Michael stood up and sighed.
"Yeah, I guess so. I guess she's just used to being alone...?" Michael trailed off as though he were asking a question.
"Should we go back then?" Alexis asked, starting to walk back in the direction of the shack.
Again Michael sighed and said, "I don't want to go back. Not if I'm going to have to live with someone that treats no one with respect. Not if I'm going to have to live with someone that will never accept anyone's help."
So much for liking her. I thought she was pretty and brave... Michael thought to himself as he sat back down.
Alexis didn't want him to be alone. She seeing nomads alone, because she had always thought that everyone should have someone with them to keep them company.
I even thought she could have nice part inside of her.... Michael thought.

She was up on the highest bough, straining her ears to hear the conversation taking place underfoot.
"If you're positive you don't want to stay..." Alexis was saying. What?
"I've already told you. I can't. Tell the others I said farewell..."
Was this because of her?
Then all of a sudden something happened. She saw something...something that wasn't going on now. It was going on somewhere in the distance. Suddenly she was on the ground, a third wheel observing a conversation between Michael and Alexis.
"I know how you feel. You need to just ignore her when she yells at you and be yourself." Alexis said to Michael.
Michael stood up and sighed.
"Yeah, I guess so. I guess she's just used to being alone...?" Michael trailed off as though he were asking a question.
"Should we go back then?" Alexis asked, starting to walk back in the direction of the shack.
Again Michael sighed and said, "I don't want to go back. Not if I'm going to have to live with someone that treats no one with respect. Not if I'm going to have to live with someone that will never accept anyone's help..."
The scene faded and she was back in the tree, gasping for air. What the hell?
Michael and Alexis looked up at her in alarm. Michael muttered a curse and took off, while Alexis climbed up the tree with impossible speed.
Vanessa leaped out of the tree and landed on the ground in a crouch, getting up and darting to the other side of the clearing where the house stood.
Alexis followed.
"You know, it's just not fair!" Vanessa fumed, her back still turned to the once-annoying acquaintance of hers. "It's not fair when...you try to save a life...and then whoever you save gives you the cold shoulder. It's not fair and it shouldn't happen."
Alexis stood silent for a moment, realizing that Vanessa was apologizing. "Come here..."
"But it's also..." Vanessa cut her off. "...it's also not fair when you've just met someone, and you're just starting to be alright with their company...and you...you make ONE slip-up and they leave! Some people are just...not tolerant of much!"
The two stood there for a long period of time, and then Edward came out from the house.
Edward looked at them."What's all the commotion about?" He asked curiously.
"Michael left. I don't know where he went, but he's not that far yet. He can probably still hear us." Alexis explained not even looking at Edward.
Vanessa scowled and looked at the ground.
Michael who was just walking now slowed down to a stop. He could still hear them talking even though he was over fifty miles away. He didn't want to listen, but had heard Vanessa apologizing.
He had tried to be nice, and had tried to ignore her yelling and bossing, but she hadn't even tried to be nice to him. He always admired how amazing her red-violet hair looked in the sun.
He wanted to go back, but knew he couldn't fit in. Not now that he had run away. He was getting so confused and frustrated. Couldn't keep his anger and confusion in.
"Aaaagh!!" He yelled. It was loud, and he shouldn't have done it.
((EEKS! Sorry I haven't been on, can I have a recap? I've been working on a new story and it's all about Toshka. Well in a way. He's a main character. Ha.))

"Well..... because .... I .... umm... I don't have to explain myself to you!!!" she shouted at Edward.
She then turned to Alexis, who was.... sobbing.
"We are just trying to help Vanessa. Why can you not except that we are your friends?"
Then she ran into the woods in the direction Michael went.
"Alexis wait!!" shouted Edward as he ran after her.
Vanessa was left alone in the woods by the shack. She sat down on the ground, but her head in her hands, and began to sob.

"My fault...all my fault." That's all that Vanessa kept muttering to herself. Stupid girl! Why couldn't she take it all back?
Why was she pushing them all away? They hadn't really done anything to her...
"Alexis." Edward soothed in his velvety voice when he spotted her around the tree. She looked up. Her eyes were red, and her face wet from the rain. Not tears...never tears.
"Oh, Edward...I was just trying to help her out! She was so...alone!"
He sat beside her and put one arm over her shoulder. "Alexis...you can't help everybody. Some people just...want to be alone."
She turned her head and hung it.
"Look at me," Edward insisted. When she didn't he took her chin and turned it to face him. "Look at me! This isn't your fault."
Oh, wow, those eyes...they hypnotized her.
Michael stood up and started walking. Alexis and Edward were near. He had to get away from them as fast as possible. ((This is hard to write while listening to Carrying the Banner from the Newsies!!))
They probably knew where he was, but he didn't want them to come find him. At least not yet. He needed a couple more minutes alone.

Alexis strained to look away from Edward's perfect and beautiful face. She wanted to be sad. Michael had left. Vanessa was mad at everyone. Toshka was still alone in the house. Everything was messed up. Weren't vampires supposed to live perfectly? She thought to herself, knowing that Edward could hear what she was thinking.
"I hear Michael, and he's close. Just calm down for a moment, and we're going to try and convince him to come back. Okay?" Edward's voice was so soothing to Alexis.
Raindrops rolled down her pale cheeks and she climbed down the tree slowly. She wished that she cry. She wish that she could feel as sad as a human.

Vanessa walked into the shack and saw Toshka just sitting in one of the corners. She glared at him and shook her head.
"There's so much going on." Vanessa muttered.
She expected Toshka to respond, but was surprised when he remained quiet.

Michael sat back down on an old log and closed his eyes. It had only been two minutes when his eyes snapped open.
Alexis was standing close to him. She approached him carefully and sat by Michael on the soggy log. She put her hand on his arm, and waited for him to push it away. He just sat there looking at Edward confused.
Alexis sighed and said, "I know Vanessa might have upset you, but she didn't mean to hurt your feelings. She just wants to..."
"...she just says what she thinks is best. She's used to being alone, and is still getting used to other vampires' company." Edward finished Alexis's sentence.
"Yeah. That's what I was trying to say." Alexis said to Michael.
Michael bit his lip softly and thought. He wondered whether he should go back or not. He wanted to see Vanessa even though he was still upset.

Toshka, Edward, Vanessa, Michael, and Alexis went back to the shack.
Evil dark creature attacked Vanessa.
Edward and Michael save her.
Michael asks Vanessa if she's okay.
She says something to upset him.
He goes away.

Toshka looked at Vanessa with a puzzled look on his face. She heard what he was thinking.
"Yes!" she suddenly blurted.
"What?" he replied.
"I am answering your question."
"I didn't even say anything!"
"I can tell what you are thinking. Yes, I do like him."
"Who?"
"Michael dummy!!! If you ever tell a soul I swear I will kill you!"
Toshka looked at Vanessa."Really? How do I know you're telling the truth?" Toshka asked Vanessa.
"Fine then, don't believe me. Whatever. I like him, but you better not tell anyone. Who knows what will happen when he finds out. Who knows if he's even going to come back." Vanessa chuckled.

"Michael." Alexis whined. "Please come back. I know we all want you to come back. Please, please, come back."
Michael sighed and started to walk in the direction of where the shack was.
"Fine. I'll go back." Michael said to Alexis. Her face immediately started to glow.
"But that doesn't mean I'm happy. All I did was try to help..." He started to trail off.
Edward spoke up, "Umm...do you guys want to run?"
Michael glared at Edward. "You can go ahead. I'm going to walk."
Edward ran off and overheard Toshka and Vanessa's conversation. They were talking about Michael, but he didn't understand what they were talking about. He heard Vanessa thinking that she liked Michael, but he didn't know if she was purposely thinking that because she sensed he was near.

Vanessa's head snapped up as she looked at the door. It was Edward.
"You might as well come in, we know you're out there." She said.
Edward walked into the door with an eyebrow raised. He wanted her to explain what she had been thinking. Vanessa knew it too.
"I like Michael. You heard right. Don't you dare breath a word to Alexis or Michael." Vanessa liked her explanation. It was short and to the point, and gave her warning.
"Okay. I didn't know that you liked him. It's a bit surprising for a vampire that can read minds." Edward replied to Vanessa.
"Yeah yeah, whatever. Where are those two anyway?" Vanessa asked as she sat back down on the floor.
"They're walking. Very slowly. I think they should be here soon though." Edward replied curtly.

She listened to Edward's thoughts. Didn't think anything but his thoughts.
Edward heard an..echo inside his head. What was Vanessa doing? He listened to her...and he couldn't hear anything.
Neither could Vanessa.
Well, they could, but exactly what it was they couldn't figure out. It was like holding a mic up to a speaker; feedback.
Just like feedback, an awful screeching noise broke the silence, and the three vampires stumbled back, clutching their ears.
"Uggh! What was that?!?!" Toshka asked, shocked. "It sounded like a hundred vampires being torn apart!"
"Very morbid! Thank you!" Vanessa complained.
She strained her...ears? Mind? What was it that allowed her to see inside other people's heads? and heard Michael and Alexis.

((okay.))Michael walked through the front door behind Alexis. Edward, Vanessa, and Toshka were grimacing. Michael felt like he had stepped into a scene at the wrong time. He froze in place waiting for someone to speak up.

"Nothing!" Vanessa snapped, instantly regretting her curtness. ((whoa, can't believe that's an actual word!)) "We were just waiting for you and we heard this weird sound, you know..."
"Uh-huh."
An awkward silence passed between them all.

"No...but I don't want to know," responded Vanessa.
Michael walked over to the door. He stood their...as if he was waiting for something. He sensed something outside the door.
"But how....We are all inside.."
"His thoughts were inturupted by a banging at the door.
The door burst open. There stood some nomads. Their blood-red eyes looked at the vampires who were standing there speechless.((sorry if i'm not following the plan. you can ignore it if you want...))

Edward didn't trust them but was first to speak up."I am Edward and these are my friends. Who might you guys be?" He asked them calmly.

((Okay. I guess I'll continue.))The nomads were quiet for a while and then pointed and Vanessa with angry eyes. Toshka had stood up and was now standing by Vanessa and Edward. Alexis and Michael were standing about two feet away.
"What do you want with her?" Michael snarled moving forward.
Alexis tried to pull Michael back but wasn't able to. The nomads seemed to speak english, but with a strange accent.
"She ran away 'om tem," They said still in the same position as before. They seemed to have trouble saying 'fr' and 'h'.
Vanessa glared. She looked as though she was not afraid but the others didn't know what to feel. There were only three nomads. Edward thought of how he had dealt with three nomads before, and knew something wouldn't be good with these.
Michael and Alexis moved toward the group, so it was now Edward, Vanessa, Toshka, Michael, and Alexis standing in a group. They outnumbered the nomads. Edward was reading their minds and didn't like what he heard.
((There are nomads that are coming after Vanessa. Can you continue now?))

She cast Edward an apologetic glance. I'm sorry! she thought. She could swear she heard him scoff.
"Vessa run away. Mus be punish."
"I have no clue what you're talking about," Vanessa lied. "Who are you?"
"Vessa lies!" one of the nomads shouted. This one was female.
Vanessa looked away from everyone, to the side, and closed her eyes tight. She thought this had been finished long ago...
Everyone was surprised when Toshka spoke up, "What did she do? How was it so bad that she needs to be punished?"Toshka was the only calm one. Edward was tense and ready to attack. Vanessa was annoyed that they had come back. Michael was worried about what was going to happen. Alexis was standing behind Michael with a mix of worry, confusion, and scared.-
"Tell us now." Michael demanded taking a step forward as the female crouched down ready to pounce.
"Maka, you must stay 'alm. We do not want any trouble." One of the nomads said. He wouldstand tall to show that he wasn't afraid if they attacked.
"Well?" Michael asked.
((Take it away Tia or Alyssa. I have no idea what she ran away for.))

Alexis was watching this all from behind Michael. She waited silently with the others to hear the explanation for this confrontation.
"I don't need somebody else to explain what I did for me!" Vanessa suddenly blurted.
"What did you do Vanessa?" asked Alexis quietly.
"I.......I......."
