Jessica (aishasumaya) | 20 comments I have noticed that no one seems to use their kindle email address on here. I have borrowed books and I get it sent to my email address that is associated with my amazon acct but not the actual jjjjjj@kindle.com. I'm just a curious person and wanted to know if there are advantages or disadvantages to using it. Also I borrowed a book I know was over 14 days ago and it's still on my kindle app for iPhone but it is not on manage my kindle. Neither are the 2 books I just borrowed. I was going to return them early but cannot find them on manage my kindle either!!

Kaitlin I use my ...@kindle.com email when someone emails me a mobi file so the file gets sent to my kindle cloud. I just forward the email to the ...@kindle.com. If the books u borrowed were mobi files u don't have to return them. Hope this helps!

Ari Ovalle (mamamermaidreads) | 4 comments Hi, Jessica!! I can answer some of your questions. I use my email address instead of my kindle address...I don't know why but I can tell you that I email the attachment (Ebook) to my kindle address. Which if you think about it sounds pointless when you could just use your kindle address. I have a chrome laptop that I thought I could download books from my main email acct to the kindle app for desktop, & Chrome is not doing it. :( But I figured if I have it in my main email acct, I'll never lose the ebook. (Not just kindle because those you have to return, I also do ARC's or ebooks I've won in a giveaway, etc.) The disadvantage here is that it wastes my time. Your borrowed books should clear up soon. I don't have an Iphone so maybe refreshing the app or something?? I don't know...I've borrowed books, also with the same problem. It's no longer on my kindle but was in my kindle cloud reader?? It's weird.

Jessica (aishasumaya) | 20 comments Thanks for the info!! One more question. What's te difference in the mobi versus whatever the other file is? Why don't mobi have to be returned but some do?

Ari Ovalle (mamamermaidreads) | 4 comments It's the file format. I know kindle uses mobi then there are pdf's, txt, epub, etc, those are usually keep-able but if you ever manage to actually get that on your reading device, which also has a lot to do with it, I know pdf's I have to magnify the words & it's nothing like reading a regular book off your kindle. Kindle locks their mobi files (kindle books) and also the authors of their ebooks. That's why it's hard to get books in other formats. It can be done, I'm just not the person to do it. I'd rather be a good girl and pay for my entertainment. :)

Jessica (aishasumaya) | 20 comments Ooook!!! So mobi are kindle file format!! That's what I was wondering!! Still wonder why some of them are returnable and some are not!! I was seeing other post saying you don have to return mobi files. So that's where my confusion was coming from!thanks for the reply!!

Kaitlin Amazon regulates the loaning of their kindle books. That's why you have to return them. I think other sites like smashwords-? Email a mobi file when u buy the book. If u get a mobi file in an email u can forward it on but I'm not sure how legal this is per copyrights. I'm kinda new to this thing too. I usually just loan books through amazon.
