What other novel by Picoult should I read?
My Sister's Keeper is the best one. I find them all very similar and churned out. I heard so many great things about Picoult, but truly her books are all the same feel, which to me is a depressing feel. Not a fan, even though I loved this book.
I thought Handle with Care was similar to My Sister's Keeper. Picoult's newest book, The Storyteller, is by far my favorite, it seemed different to me than the others, it read more like historical fiction for me. House Rules was another of my favorites along with Second Glance and Salem Falls. The thing about these books is they are similar in that Picoult takes a look at an issue that has lots of feeling behind it and she writes about it from the view of an ordinary person. I wouldn't read these books back to back, especially considering Picoult does not often write a happy ending. I highly recommend most of her books!
I recommend The Pact or Nineteen Minutes. I have not read all of her tomes, but these were excellent.
I loved "Vanishing Acts" and so does my Mum, got to be the best book I've ever read, next to the Bible!

I would have to say that My Sister's Keeper and Nineteen Minutes are two of my favorites. I would recommend going back to some of her earlier books like Second Glance and Salem Falls. Jodi has a certain style of writing but to me these earlier books have a different feel. Plain Truth is a mystery with a surprise ending.
The ending of The Sister's Keeper made me vow to never read another of her books. I had read a few before that and they were interesting enough but no more.
I have read at least ten of her books, but once you've read about 4, you've pretty much read them all.

I'm reading Between the Lines (Which is YA) and am enjoying it (Although i've only read the first chapter, lol)
The Pact was my first and I still recommend it. I also like Change of Heart. I recently finished Storyteller and it was really good too but deals pretty vividly with the Holocaust. It might not be for everyone.
I have read most but not all of Jodi Picoult's books. My Sister's Keeper and The Pact were the first ones that I read and I loved both, although the end of My Sister's Keeper shocked me so that I remember having to read it twice to see if I misunderstood something..lol. I also loved Nineteen Minutes, Handle with Care,Sing You Home, and House Rules. However, I must say that The Storyteller is by far my favorite because of the Holocaust theme and the fact that it is quite different from her other stories. She dealt realistically and sympathetically with the difficult historical events, and while it was very intense, it was well written and accurate. I have always been interested in this period, more so after I married the son of a survivor. I was fortunate enough to see Jodi during her book tour and was enthralled by her accounting of her research and her dedication to telling an accurate historical novel. It may not be for everyone, but it was an important book for me.

I'll see about getting a copy of The Storyteller.
NINETEEN MINUTES. You literally will not be able to put it down. It has all the drama of My Sister's Keeper but it's much easier to relate to, as a teenager, and I find the characters more compelling.
PERFECT MATCH was great as was The Pact and nineteen minutes
I've read almost all of them, but my favorites are, The Storyteller, My Sister's Keeper, House Rules, and Sing You Home. If you're looking for something that isn't depressing, Between the Lines was written with her daughter, and it's one of my favorite books of all time. House Rules is one of my favorites as well. It's not really sad, but it's really powerful. The Storyteller is just to good for words. Sing You Home is really good to. It comes with a CD of songs and it makes the book much more personal.
Plain Truth was her best - hands down.
I've read four or five including "My sister's keeper". "The Storyteller" her latest, is THE best.
I totally agree with you, Joanie...The Storyteller is different from all her other novels, and in my opinion it is definitely her best one yet. It will be very difficult to top it!
I adored "Plain Truth." It's one of those stories that has stuck with me, months after reading it.
I like her older novels better. Outside of My Sister's Keeper, my favorites are Keeping Faith, Picture Perfect, and Mercy. Her newer ones have become a little preachy and formulaic.
First Piccoult novel read and last. It may have been my midset at the time, but this book totally destroyed me so haven't read another.
I've read a number of them. My Sister's Keeper was my first, and I loved it -- EVEN the ending. I hated the movie, because they changed the ending. Plain Truth would be another favourite of mine. HATED The Pact -- absolutely hated it. So depressing, and I didn't feel I needed to fill my mind with that. Wasn't crazy about Keeping Faith either. The rest were kind of middle-of-the-road, although I haven't read them all.

I really liked Handle with Care though my absolute favorite one was Between the Lines. As a teenager, I found Between the Lines easy to relate to because I could see myself as the main character.Regardless, all of her books are pretty good though they tend to drag on at times with all the court scenes and what not.
I know someone mentioned how they loved Vanishing Acts but I read a book in 6th grade that had the exact same plot line (The Face on the Milk Carton) so i didn't enjoy that one as much. My freshman year I went on a kick and read My Sister's Keeper, Perfect Match, vanishing Acts, Handle with Care, Keeping Faith, and House Rules. I'll have to check out her new one :)

Am I the ONLY person who read Perfect Match it was definately one of my favorites.. I love love loved it..

House Rules, Seconds Glance, and the Pact
I really loved My Sister's Keeper, and the ending was quite shocking. The only other book of Jodi Picoult I've read is Nineteen Minutes and I'd recommend it to Jodi Picoult fans. It's all about teenagers problems, especially bullying. Stayed in my mind for days after reading it.
Sing you home! I read that book in one sitting!! I could NOT put it down! Jodi Picoult is one of my favorite authors! I have read and own most of her books. I also really enjoyed Salem Falls.
Between the lines. That is a book that she wrote with her daughter. One of her first YA novels as its more of a "fairytale" type of book.
I love her books. They make you think outside the lines of black and white. I rush to get her newest book as soon as it comes out. I haven't reread any of them simply because I usually wind up crying or feeling emotional. The Storyteller kept me in tears. I have to say that the only book I didn't enjoy and didn't finish was Songs of the Humpback Whale..I have to say it was confusing and I only read less then five chapters. I don't at the moment have a favorite book. I just love her though

I always have to be prepared to be challenged emotionally with Jodi Picoult. Never a light read. My favorite, by far, was House Rules. Emotional, but a great story, too.
I seriously havent read one book of hers that I didn't like. I loved My Sisters Keeper, and then I went to see the movie, and I wanted to SCREAM! They screwed the whole thing up....hate that

My favorites are Nineteen Minutes, My Sister's Keeper, and Salem Falls. The Pact was pretty good too.
After reading My Sisters Keeper none of her other books seemed as good, I I did like The Pact and not reading her books for a while I picked up Home Rules, which I enjoyed.
Plain Truth is the best I've read. Handle with care was pretty good as well.
Plain Truth is my favorite. Nineteen Minutes and the Pact are good. Perfect Match is amazing! Vanishing Acts is one of the best books I've ever read. Give those a try

I would actually disagree. I read 18 of her books and yes, some themes are recurring, but she does so much research that no two are actually alike. I also heard her speak twice and actually spoke to her a few times. She is an intelligent, sophisticated writer who researches her books for years at a time.
I'm currently listening to (on audio) The Storyteller. It is OUTSTANDING! If you are at all interested in history, particularly surrounding the Holocaust, this book is amazing. She clearly did a massive amount of research before tackling this book. I have loved several of her other books but this one has really jumped the queue to number ONE! :)
Suz I agree with you! she is a wonderful author and researcher.
The Storyteller is unlike any of her other books, and in my opinion, this is her best book! I was lucky enough to see her during the promotion tour and she was amazing. She did a lot of research and she had her audience riveted during her reading of an excerpt. I was thoroughly engrossed in this novel and I do not know how she will ever top it!

So, My Sister's Keeper has sat very well with me, apart from the ending. I was really blown away since I wasn't really all that excited to read it. I think it has something to do with the author itself, so what other novel by Picoult would I enjoy? I currently own a copy of Nineteen Minutes, but I want other opinions on this.
