It's really great. Like ASoIaF, it's not afraid to kill off characters for the story, we can sympathize with the 'villains', there's more than one thing happening at once (there's a war down south and up north, and there's an even bigger threat in the horizon). The main character is flawed. The chaos is just... Okay, fair warning, the story is really grim and dark even to the point of being depressing. And the first book may start of a bit slow, but I loved it. Heh.
Also, there are other races aside from human, though they're not the usual elves or dwarves or whatever. And there's some sort of magic going on also (mostly just telepathic stuff).

Oops! Uh...actually I'm currently reading book 6: The Bonehunters and loving it to bits. I just forgot to rate all the books after Deadhouse Gates. I probabaly should've mentioned that as well as there are indeed quite a few similarities. Sorry.

So thanks guys. And if you've got any more keep em coming!

Have you read this blog post by the man himself?

No I hadn't. Thanks! Odd though. I do follow his Not a Blog.

Yes, Pug is awesome!!

I read one of his novels and I didn't really like it. I thought he spend far to much time explaining magic systems and to little time developing his characters. I later read an interview with him where he explained that to him the characters are storytelling tools and that he didn't really care about them so I guess I was right there. I suppose if you're into Dungeons & Dragons and all that his books are really great but I'm more looking for a good story with well developed characters and for me his books just didn't meet those criteria.
Still thanks for taking the time to reply. Hopefully you don't feel like I talked down the books you love. I just felt if I'm going to turn down your recommendation it's no more than decent to also explain why. But please bear in mind that all said above (except for the interview part) is my opinion and my opinion only.

The Silk & Steel saga is written so that each chapter is from the point-of-view of one of the main characters, so hopefully it is your type of saga.

Definitely sounds like it. Problem is I can't seem to find them anywhere. I'm sure Amazon has them but I don't have a credit card. This always seems odd to foreigners but I'm Dutch and here in the Netherlands very few people have credit cards. We use debit cards (mostly Maestro) for just about everything. Which doesn't mean I'm going to give up on them. It just means it'll probably take some time before I can find them.

There are also quite a few recommendations on the pages as well.

Hi Jonah, My Silk & Steel Saga is available through Amazon and Barnes&Noble. If you don't have access to a Barnes&Noble store, then I'm not sure how you can get them without a credit card. I know US and UK libraries will order them, but I have fans in Europe who say the libraries will not order them since they are not (yet) translated. Sorry about that. I'm an independent author, so I don't have access to as many sales points as the big publishers...yet! But hopefully some day.
