Could you please explain as to what you are referring to? I saw your other post in the complaint box.

Diana Febry (dianaj) | 2 comments Hi
I have looked through folders and wasn't sure where to post this request or whether I'm allowed to in this group? I am looking for beta readers. The book is a crime mystery, 93,000 words.
I won't be offended if not appropriate for group - just let me know if it is or not ok.

Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) I'm always willing to be a beta reader, but I've been pretty busy lately. I'm not sure how soon I'd be able to get back to you with each chapter.

Hi Diana! Thank-you for asking, you can create a thread here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

Thank you.

Aaron the Werebear Writer (darkpathwalker) | 19 comments Just an observation, as I do not know where else to post this in this moment. Where are we to request permission to create a new folder if we want to share something we wrote for constructive criticism?

It is to email a moderator on here?

Hi Aaron! You should check out the writing corner area, you are free to make POSTS and THREADS to share your writing, but not FOLDERS.

Harsh,

This thread is mainly for group maintenance questions. To share your writing, perhaps post in the Your Writing folder under the appropriate input or the We Want To Read Your Writing discussion.

Shlomo (shlomoreuben) | 48 comments Hi. I tried to look for a thread to add my question. This seems to be the most appropriate place.

I'd like to know whether there is anything called as 'Producing' in writing?

Example: Person A, wishes to produces an idea, and discusses with a writer (Person B) to create a book. Both the writer and the producer get credited for it.

I would like to know if such a thing even exists. Or is it fraud stuff going on these days to exploit the writer (along with the writer's creativity)?

Does anyone know about this? A little help, please!

Hi Shlomo! I don't think we have a thread that your question belongs under, so feel free to create one thread in the Writer's Corner on this topic :)

Sure. I've created a new post for the same here.

Thanks. :)

Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) Can we post fanfiction in this group as well, or only work that is entirely our own?

Hey Roxanne! We support all types of writing so fanfiction is totally welcome (I mean, there are published authors who write fanfiction). You should just make sure you label it as such, mostly so it doesn't appear as if you are stealing someone's ideas but it also helps those who read it.

Roxanne Shriver (roxannexshriver) Okay. Thank you very much! :)

message 67: by Maria (new)

Maria Trujillo (maritillo) Dear fellow writers, I'm twisted up about book fairs and conferences. I published my book in March of this year and have been trying my best to promote my historical fiction book during my free time. I know that one of the ways is to participate in book fairs or conferences but I I'm not sure if I jumped the gun on it. I signed up for the Miami International Book Fair and to be honest I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed about it. I don't how I should take advantage of what might be a premature or great opportunity. How many books should I order? What should I do and not do? Displays? Should I am for smaller conferences or niche specific conferences in the future? Any wise words of wisdom would be much appreciated.

Renee E | 49 comments Maria, have you thought about contacting someone on the staff and asking them for advice? They probably not only have the experience, but are used to helping new exhibitors. After all, it's to their advantage that their exhibitors do well.

Hi Renee! Thanks for responding. I'll try to reach out to the organizers and report back. At the beginning, I was hesitant to do so because they're not taking any commission or even handling their ticket sales. So I may have wrongly assumed that their involvement is strictly to organize the event. That's a great idea though and your comment made me realize that I should explore it more. One would hope the staff want exhibitors to do well.

Maria, this thread is not meant for discussions, it is meant for questions regarding where you should post things/general group questions/etc, not for writing questions like this one, you should create a thread either in the general discussion folder or in the Writer's Corner.

Thanks,

Irene
