This is something that has been driving me insane, even in the books themselves. The comparisons between the two. Rhoan and Quinn making comments "You've been hanging around my sister too long.", aside from her stubborn obstuse-ness, I don't really see a lot of similarities. They are two entirely different women to be compared inside or outside the books. Risa doesn't have the ego, the (sometimes utterly stupid) sheer bravery (I personally don't find a lot of Risa's actions brave, just stupid), the self confidence that Riley does, or the natural hunting skills that any wolf possesses. Also, I find comparing Quinn/Riley to Risa/Azriel completely ignorant. Quinn did a LOT of crap no woman should ever tolerate, he was entirely self serving until he figured out that, if he wanted Riley, he had to be less selfish. Azriel, on the other hand, does damn near EVERYTHING in Risa's best interests. I'm curious to know how others see the comparisons as well.

I think they should have sililarities, Riley helped raise Risa. She rescued her so Risa looks up to her and idolises her. They have similar bravery and boldness. While Risa can't shift or change she is part wolf. I do think they are both individuals who seem to have a knack for getting head over heels into crap, but I see them as standing on their own. Risa is her own person, in her own right, not a carbon copy of Riley. I do think that Risa could not have asked for a better role model, though.
That's really not my point though Matteo. So many reviewers complain she's a poor Riley 2.0, when she's NOT supposed to be. But with how often they're compared, I can see why readers view them almost as two halves of a whole, instead of individuals.
what I'm saying is their relationship is why they are compared so much. As to why readers would liken Risa to riley 2.0 shows they they don't see nuances, and just want to stay stuck on one charater. The issue is with the readers not the writting. Risa is not Riley, but they do have things in common. The storyline for Risa is deeper and much more complicated.
