cannot merge authors because correct one is GR author

Above is a search for the book Saffron Dreams. The correct author's name has the middle initial M and she's a GR author. I tried to merge the other author into the correct and GR won't let me because the author with the correct spelling is a GR author and has control over her profile. The book under the authors sans middle initial has ISBNs and one rating/review.

Any suggestions?

Message the author? Message the lone rater/reviewer? The latter will still leave an ISBN book orphaned so to speak.

While you can't merge the authors, you can edit the author name on the book itself -- if there's only one book, it's not too bad.

I think this has been brought up in the Feedback group, but I don't know if it got any attention.
