Cherrie (self-describedkindleaddict) I am new to this group and created my "lendable" shelf based on whether each specific book says lending is "enabled" or "not enabled" in Amazon. I only included books on my shelf that are "lending: enabled"

I have been looking through some of other members lending shelves and have found many, many books that are not lendable, ie. do not state that lending is "enabled" on amazon.

Am I doing something wrong when I am figuring out which books should go on my lendable shelf?

Sadie Forsythe | 15 comments That's how I created mine too. Maybe people forget to remove them after lending them, only being lendable once and all. Or maybe people aren't being careful enough about checking. I know I've made the assumption before that something was lendable only to find that it wasn't. It sounds like you're doing everything right to me.

Ali (aliryder) I also think that some publishers change the lendable option for some books, so if you don't check often, you may still have some books listed as lendable that actually aren't anymore.

I know this thread is old but you did everything right.

Some publishers have changed their minds, so that may be the culprit.

We also have a few people in this group who have been sharing/sending illegal copies of pirated books. If you see someone sharing books that amazon claims are non-lendable, you should not take/share them.
