Though whenever I get a chance to interviews our fave cozy authors, I will post it. I am starting a new thread called Book Reviews of my Personal Collection. Check the new thread for more info!

Mini Interview with Leann Sweeney

#1 Where do you see yourself as a writer in 10 years?
L.S. I see myself writing what I know, which is all any writer can ever do. One thing is for certain, even if there are no contracts, no publisher and no agent, I will still write. It's just who I am.

#2 If you could live anywhere regardless of the weather, where and why?
L.S. I would live where I am now (South Carolina) but the only thing I would change is having my family closer so I could see them more often. Of course, they might not feel the same way. 

#3 What genres do you like to read when you are not writing?
L.S. I am always reading something in the mystery, suspense or thriller genres. I have read a lot of books in my time, from horror to romance to historical fiction to true crime to the classics, but now just give me mystery!

#4 Do you do book signings, if no do you have plans to, when and where?
L.S. When I lived near Houston I was always doing signings—Murder by the Book is one of the best mystery bookstores in the country--but now we are in a more rural area without an independent bookstore anywhere close. I don't have any plans!

#5 Do you" base" any of your fictional characters in your books from people in your personal life?
L.S. My characters are never based on any one person. Do I watch and listen and learn so I can create better characters? You bet. It's all grist for the mill. But I take traits from various folks and make a new person. That is one of the most fun parts of writing for me!

#6 What are working on now?
L.S. I am working on the 7th Cats in Trouble Mystery that will be out in 2015. #6 is out August 5th of this year.

#7 Do you have any talents other than being a great writer?
L.S. Talents? I guess quilting is a talent, I can draw a little, paint a little and at one time I played the piano. I am also a pretty good cook. It runs in the family. My grandfather was a chef and my grandmother was a baker.
