Ellyn Honey | 1 comments Hello, I’m new to the group, I am listening to the audiobook Spark of light by Jodi picoult. I usually really like her books and I’m enjoying this story, but I’m not enjoying how the story flows. It starts with an incident and has been going backwards and forwards, then jumping around with lots of characters.
Has anybody else read or listened to this? What are your thoughts!

Do you ever find that the perfect book "waits" for you and you get around to reading it at exactly the right time for what's happening in your life?

message 4931: by Gia (new)

Gia Williams | 21 comments Oh in that case then you really need to read Two Steps forward by Graeme Simsion and Anne Buist. Emotional journey of walking the Camino trail. When our local book group read this it became such a memorable meeting when we all got together. My work mate was about to set out to do this trail. I felt like I walked it before she left. It’s a book written by both husband and wife. Once I finished the book I started an account to save to do this when my now 16year old son leaves school and we can do as a family. It will make you laugh, cry, giggle and sigh.

message 4934: by Souhardya (new)

Souhardya De | 1 comments Hello,
I am Souhardya De. I am 16 years old, being born in 9th January 2004. I was born in 2004, in the suburban district of Midnapore, in West Bengal, India.A writing enthusiast since the beginning of times, It was my father who first introduced me to the world of English, when I was a mere boy of 6 months. And consequently, my English developed better than my native language, Bengali. I authored a book, The Scion of Suryavansh, having self published it with Amazon, United States, when I was about 13 years old. The inspiration ? Well, one day when father and mom were away, I thought of doing something creative. Now, that could only be a film, a book or a song. A film was one unreachable for me. Song was not my favourite pastime. But yes, writing is! This was my first poetry epic, being purely focussed on events of the Valmiki Ramayana. It was in 2019, when I published my second book, The Chronicles of Suryavansh,a drama on Lord Rama’s Ancestors, in English and French, again from Amazon USA. This time, I got awarded by the India Book of Records, for being the first, to write a book, on Rama, in drama, in English and French. I was nominated for the CrossAwards 2019 and elected as a Coordinator at the Statesman News Agency, for their weekly magazine, VOICES, where I’m a frequent contributor, writing on relevant historical, and socio economic issues.I am also a columnist at The Citizen, where he writes on Gender Equality. On 30th September, 2019 I have been awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland, the highest honour in Humanities, for my publications on South Asian Mythology and intricate historical background and details of South Asian History. Moreover, I also work with Malala Yousafzai, serving as a collector in her Fund, the Malala Fund. I was honoured with the Sahitya Samman 2019 by Nabyashrote Publication. I am presently in class 10, in the ICSE board, having done a Certificate Course(Audit), from University of Harvard, on English Literature (Shakespeare), and a certificate in Non Violence and Movement Building from Solidarity Uganda, which I finished in 2019, with the help of edX and Udemy respectively. I was elected into the Science Olympiad Hall of Fame in 2019, for my contribution to academics, as well. As a Statesman Voices Coordinator, I have interviewed top media personalities like singer Raghav Chatterjee, Madhura Bhattacharya, Tamal Bandyopadhyay and so on. I’ve been recently been selected as a Junior Reporter by South China Morning Post.I raised voices during the brutal Amazon wildfires, writing against it at various newspapers, because that really seemed to pose a very, very serious threat to humanity. I’m also a hobbystic poet, having my poetic works at The Italian Embassy New Delhi, India and at Poetry Nation. Independently for passionate purposes, I’m an active writer at The Medium. Besides, as an innovator, I led a team that won the top 100 under 100, at the Atal Tinkering Marathon 2018. Infact, it’s not good for me to call myself an innovator because that might have serious implications as well. But still, I feel like being one of those environmentalists who innovate for a better environment tomorrow. I led a team at state level for the National Children’s Science Congress 2017 and Vibrant Gujarat summit 2018, where the team received a standing position. I hope to keep my contributions to the field of writing hale and hearty and to bring forth many great stories in the years to come, with all of your love and blessings.

He has penned an amazing anthology of short stories and amongst them is a story called “Dance of the Little Swans”, a stunning tale of an old lady who has kept a secret deep within her soul for over fifty years only to be revealed to a local shop keeper purely by chance.
