message 4302: by Gayle (new)

Gayle Fleming | 6 comments I am reading Liane Moriarty's Nine Perfect Strangers. I wanted to start the year off with something light and funny. I was sitting in a neighborhood Mexican restaurant a couple of days ago having a Margarita and laughing out loud—I mean really laughing out loud. The poor bartender asked if I was okay, I'm sure thinking he had a lone madwoman in the nearly empty restaurant. "Just reading a funny book," I said. He looked relieved.

message 4335: by [deleted user] (new)

I am an avid reader - I think I read well over 100 books last year (2018)I am reading a trilogy at the moment about life in Kenya from the 1950's onwards. Very interesting. I have also just read a wonderful non-fiction book "Healing your Life Through Activity" by Shoshanah Shear. It explains the vast theories and models that comprise Occupational Therapy as a profession. Shoshanah Shear is herself an Occupational Therapist and this book covers some of her work over the 27 years of her experience as such, but written in a fascinating way, covering the human life cycle. If you haven't read this book, I can highly recommend it!
