I am reading A Garden of Earthly Delights by Joyce Carol Oates - it's the first book in the Wonderland Quartet. It's very good!
If you like historical fiction, two EXCELLENT books are "The Lilac Girls" (about 3 women whose lives intersected during, and after WWII--two of the women are real while the third is a composite character) and "The Killer Angels" (about the Battle of Gettysburg). I cannot recommend "The Lilac Girls" highly enough!
Just finished 1984 by George Orwell. Currently reading The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin and The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo.

If you like Eleanor, you might like the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. So sweet and quirky!

I have two books I'd love to share with the group. First up is a contemporary romance (same sex). But there is some stand out in the story: 1) its an established couple 2) story is centers on building a family.
For TodayIt intersperses humor and sweet in the story. I love this author and with each story she writes, her storytelling becomes more enchanting.
It is part of a series but I had two trusted book friends who never read and felt it stands alone.
