Some of the best books come out of Africa---it must be such a beautiful country to produce such excellent writers!

message 4040: by Charlene (new)

Charlene Kalinski | 5 comments Hi, I'm Charlene and am new to posting on this site. But I felt compelled to write something about the two books I just finished reading.
I just completed The Diplomat's Daughter by Tanabe and We Were the Lucky Ones. Truthfully, I was blown away. We Were the Lucky Ones had me from the first chapter. I was pleased that it contained the actual accountings of what was happening during WWII. But, I've decided to take a break and read a fluff novel now. Does anyone else do something like that?

message 4041: by WyoLady 93 (new)

WyoLady 93 (wyolady93) Charlene wrote: "take a break and read a fluff novel..."

I most certainly do the very same. I recently read a nonfiction book about Catherine the Great, which took me a while. Right after that I read a couple cozy mysteries. I also try to change genres after each book I read (or every few books depending). Something I have done since I was a kid.
