Check out How Fast Can You Run by Harriet Levin Millan. It's fiction but it's based on the life of a S. Sudanese refugee the author met in Philadelphia and she and her son helped reunite with his mother. What an amazing story. Details the racism the protagonist met in Philadelphia, which nearly equals the dangers he faced in Sudan.
Finished
by Mary Kubica-- 4 Stars.Bravo! What a suspenseful debut--
My Review:

I am currently reading "The Girl Who Drank the Moon" by Kelly Barnhill. I am thoroughly enjoying the story. It is a Newberry medal book and this time, I think they got the right book.
Just finished "Magpie Murders" by Anthony Horowitz. I enjoyed it very much. It is a Mystery within a Mystery.
Who Moved My Cheese?I have just finished reading "Who moved my cheese" by Spencer Johnson as recommended to me at work. Highly recommend it and such a quick read!
Andrea wrote: "Just started Into the Water"Currently reading 'Once Upon A Star' by Nora Roberts and three other authors. It's a set of four fairy tale stories.
I listened to The Poisonwood Bible in audio format, and I loved it even more than the first time I read it in print which was one of the picks for the original Oprah book club.I started The Story Hour also in audio with a talented narrator who captivates the Indian Accent with broken English perfectly for this audiobook. I highly recommend the audio version of this book.
Lidoshka wrote: "Kindred-Octavia Butler"I haven't read this book but I did downloaded it to my kindle, one of my co workers was reading it and gave me a brief description of it. So I told her sounds like my type of a book. It is on my to read list....
Julia wrote: "I'm reading Truman by David McCullough & I Can't Make This Up Life Lessons by Kevin Hart. Curious if others read more than one book at a time?"I do thats the only way I can get my reading challenges done, I completed my reading challenge this year though. Books I am reading right now (Well not at this very second obviously) The Guardians

Surviving a Borderline Parent: How to heal Your Childhood Wounds and Build Trust, Boundaries and Self Esteem By Kimberlee Roth Goddesses Never Age: The Secret prescription for radiance, Vitality, and Well Being By Dr. Christine Northrup, Sample and I have the ebook I just don't know how to link it together on my kindle. Messages from Spirit By Colette Baron-Reid.
I am sure there are many of us reading a whole bunch of books at one time. I was doing reviews, which I need to get back to a book I needed to do a book review on but still have to finish that book lol I am at 32% done with her book.

I'm currently reading "He Never Deserved Me" by Ariana Mansour. This book is absolutely incredible. It is not only well written but also captivating and heart wrenching. This book is a story of triumph. The narrative is chilling: a true memoir of the power of the human spirit and its will to persevere. I am immensely enjoying this book and recommend it to everyone. Can't put it down!He Never Deserved Me
I often read more than one book at a time, right now I am reading Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult and Justice Burning by Scott Pratt.
Lori wrote: "The Heirs by Susan Reiger"I really want to read this one Lori. You must let me know your thoughts when you finish :-)
Mary Ann Jones wrote: "I often read more than one book at a time, right now I am reading Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult and Justice Burning by Scott Pratt."Small Great Things was a really good book especially with all that is going on in our world today.
Sandra wrote: "With Every Letter. By: Sarah Sundin"I'm currently reading a small epic love story 'Satyavati and Shantanu' by Ashok . K. Banker.
I listened to the audio script of Ellen Degeneres's book " Seriously I'm kidding " I enjoyed the book especially that Ellen typed it herself.
I am reading Goat Brothers by Larry Colton. Non-fiction, about 5 men who met in a fraternity in the early '60s. I like it!
I am currently reading The Burning Girl, I am not liking it very much. There are only 156 pages but it is taking me forever to read. I hate to not finish a book, but this is a candidate for that. The writing is not very good.
I'm reading the fourth novel in the Game of Thrones series. I've just been reading them one after the other. I love the books, but there are so many characters and some of the situations are so complicated that I am grateful for the ability to read then one after the other.I'm also reading The Teacher's Wife, which I downloaded for free from one of the bargain books pages. It's actually been pretty gripping thus far. I'm trying to make an effort to read Indie authors to kind of pay it forward.
I was hoping to download the audio version of the Game of Thrones book, so I could listen to it during my 45 minute commute to work, but I think I botched that. Haven't quite figured out how to do it yet.
