Engaging and profound. It's not biography, but that seems to be the closest category.

Joseph Molloy (joemolloy) I've just finished the excellent The Last Lion: Winston Spencer Churchill: Visions of Glory 1874-1932

It is a phenomenal book that I recommend to anyone who reads history or biographies.
