I like Lady Julia as well and I'm hoping to read The Dark Enquiry soon, glad to hear it's good!

I've finished and gave it 4 stars. There were a few things I wasn't happy about, such as character development, but I loved the idea of alternating the story between 9th century Scotland and the present. Overall it was an engaging read and I hope you'll enjoy it!

Thanks for the link, Dale! I did like it, despite some misgivings, and gave it 4 stars. If you like this kind of time-slip story, have you tried Susanna Kearsley's books, such as The Shadowy Horses, Mariana or The Winter Sea?

message 4419: by Dale (new)

Dale Harcombe | 6889 comments Thanks for those recommendations Sabina. I will try and get hold of some of them. Funnily enough the first published children's book I wrote, Chasing After the Wind, was a time slip story between 1990s and 1930s.Sadly it is now out of publication.

Melissa Crowe I am currently reading Fetish by Tara Moss, it's an interesting read. It took some convinving for my husband that it is not a continuation of The Fifty Shades books.

Sammy (booksandtoebeans) Days of blood and starlight by Laini Taylor.. Don't usually read YA ever, but the hype for the first one in the series was huge on here, not that I was entirely sold after reading it myself.

message 4426: by Katie (new)

Katie (ieishanalani) just finished Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #5) by J.R. Ward now getting stuck into Finale (Hush, Hush, #4) by Becca Fitzpatrick :)

Lol Sounds like one doesn't it but nothing could be further from the truth. Here's a little of her book description. ' In Drink, Smoke, Pass Out, she tries to find out if there's more to life than wanting to suck tequila out of Ryan Gosling's navel.'
I haven't read much yet but it's about how she embarks on a quest to discover what other people get from their religious beliefs.
