What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book)

Lol, I have her book The Warlord Wants Forever and it was quite good
I'm half way through Affinity and I'm enjoying it. Took me a little bit to get a grip on the storyline but now I'm hooked.
Lyn wrote: "I'm reading "The Wide Sargasso Sea" by Jean Rhys. Interesting so far, at least it is holding my attention more than the other two I've started."I've recently started this one too - are you still going? I'm finding the style quite "choppy" - not what i was expecting at all.
I'm reading Monsters of L.A. by Lisa Morton - a wonderful horror collection that uses the monsters of the silver screen to explore the human condition.
Yotsuba&!, Vol. 9 andYotsuba&!, Vol. 10Some reason the 11th book isn't showing up yet even though I added it last night :| The 11th book is the one I'm currently up to. I read the scanlations of the series.

Usually only takes about 15 minutes...but there have been ongoing problems with GR in the last few days, and today has been exceptionally bad, so maybe that's why!

This is very true! Hope it shows up soon. I've only had one other book not turn up very quickly before. It's sort of an offput when adding things..eerp.
I'm reading the latest Calamity's Corner. January edition. The online monthly magazine has such a lot of information about movies, books and other things most of us are interested in. There is an interview with Author of the month - Rebecca Ryals Russell who tells why she writes her Fantasy Young Adult books. And movie and book reviews and funny little peeps into other people's lives like the photo, writer Carole Sutton took of her husband and pet dog, Jackie. Reading Fantômas atm which is really good :). Saw an episode of it last year. Though its interesting as it was a silent film and with this book there is just so much..more than gestures facial expressions and a few lines of conversation! real good stuff.
I just finished reading House Rules about 20mins ago and wrote a review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...i've not done a semi serious review in ages..i feel rusty!

Great review to Mish!
I've just finished The Sunne in Splendour, a great book about Richard III. It is quite long, about 900 pages of small type, but quite compelling.
I finished The Secret Hour by Scott Westerfeld yesterday, and am starting Catching Fire (The Hunger Games #2) today. It will be my first re-read, which is shocking.
Tango wrote: "I've just finished The Sunne in Splendour, a great book about Richard III. It is quite long, about 900 pages of small type, but quite compelling."I've been meaning to read this for a couple of years now; Sharon Kay Penman is one of my favourite authors! Maybe this year...
I'm reading Lady Macbeth by Susan Fraser King, which is really good, along with Macbeth: A True Story by Fiona Watson, non-fiction to keep the history straight.
I'm sure I will Laura. I've read several of her books now and really enjoyed them. Easy to read and interesting topics
I'm about to start Five Bells by Gail Jones. I've heard lots of good reports about this book, so hopefully I'll enjoy it:)
Oh that was on my TBR list, but I took it off because mum didnt like it. Let me know what you think.
Brenda wrote: "I'm about to start Five Bells by Gail Jones. I've heard lots of good reports about this book, so hopefully I'll enjoy it:)"Just read the desciption of this book sounds pretty good..I'll be waiting to see what you think.

Which one of her books would you recommend? This was my first (after reading several recommendations) and I really liked it.

I've just Limitless, I hate when movies cause the title of the book to change as well as the movie cover. I much prefer the name The Dark Fields

Her Plantagenet series is excellent; the first book isWhen Christ and His Saints Slept , followed by Time and Chance and Devil's Brood. They are all fabulous! The latest one in the series, Lionheart has been published late last year and I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but seen good reviews by friends.

I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't get around his style of writing and it felt poorly edited so I gave it the flick. My review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
So, since I'm waiting on the next scanlation for Yotsuba I've moved onto Bart Simpson Prince of Pranks which is a lovely light read.
And I've dipped my toes into my stack of old magazines.
Thinking of picking up another novel to read but currently not sure what to start. I might blindly chose from my collection..lol
I'm afraid I don't join in the challenges as I have an enormous TBR list and so I have my own agenda. Currently reading (and enjoying) almost finished.... this brick: Vikram Seth A Suitable Boy after which Great Expectations
6 Rainier Drive
Kill Alex Cross
The Well of Lost Plots
10th Anniversary
We Need to Talk About Kevin
Claudia's Big Break
Farewell My Ovaries
Port Mortuary
That will keep me going for a few weeks. No-one can say I limit myself to one genre....

You know you could probably adapt a lot to the challenges Marianne! I have a huge TBR list as well, and I find because I have so many, it's much easier to pick books that 'fit'!!! Enjoy your reading though, you have 2 on there that I've read and enjoyed very much:)
