Cathleen Ross (goodreadscomuser-cathleenross) | 10 comments I'm loving Kresely Cole's Dark Needs at Night's Edge. The hero is a vampire who can get an erection and the heroine is a ghost. They are in love and want to do it.
A great conflict.

Maggie I'm half way through Affinity and I'm enjoying it. Took me a little bit to get a grip on the storyline but now I'm hooked.

I've recently started this one too - are you still going? I'm finding the style quite "choppy" - not what i was expecting at all.

Greg Chapman | 11 comments I'm reading Monsters of L.A. by Lisa Morton - a wonderful horror collection that uses the monsters of the silver screen to explore the human condition.

Neko Yotsuba&!, Vol. 9 andYotsuba&!, Vol. 10

Some reason the 11th book isn't showing up yet even though I added it last night :| The 11th book is the one I'm currently up to. I read the scanlations of the series.

Usually only takes about 15 minutes...but there have been ongoing problems with GR in the last few days, and today has been exceptionally bad, so maybe that's why!

message 2961: by Neko (new)

Neko This is very true! Hope it shows up soon. I've only had one other book not turn up very quickly before. It's sort of an offput when adding things..eerp.

Laurel Lamperd I'm reading the latest Calamity's Corner. January edition. The online monthly magazine has such a lot of information about movies, books and other things most of us are interested in. There is an interview with Author of the month - Rebecca Ryals Russell who tells why she writes her Fantasy Young Adult books. And movie and book reviews and funny little peeps into other people's lives like the photo, writer Carole Sutton took of her husband and pet dog, Jackie. I've been meaning to read this for a couple of years now; Sharon Kay Penman is one of my favourite authors! Maybe this year...

Her Plantagenet series is excellent; the first book isWhen Christ and His Saints Slept , followed by Time and Chance and Devil's Brood. They are all fabulous! The latest one in the series, Lionheart has been published late last year and I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but seen good reviews by friends.

message 2996: by [deleted user] (new)

just went through a mission of books on hoilday any one that has a kindle and like sci fi or paranormal romance (both are pretty much YA) I suggest picking up Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee (parra) and Eden by Keary Taylor (sci fi)

more recently i just finished The Fiddler's Gun by A.S. Peterson and A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness - the witches one was awesome so much background, history and thought went in to I finished it in like a say

the fiddlers one is a pirate book and who doesnt love pirates?

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this one. I wasn't too impressed with her Jane Seymour: Henry VIII's True Love.

message 2998: by Neko (new)

Neko I was reading this: Binge Trading The Real Inside Story of Cash, Cocaine and Corruption in the City by Seth Freedman I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't get around his style of writing and it felt poorly edited so I gave it the flick.
My review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

So, since I'm waiting on the next scanlation for Yotsuba I've moved onto Bart Simpson Prince of Pranks which is a lovely light read.

And I've dipped my toes into my stack of old magazines.

Thinking of picking up another novel to read but currently not sure what to start. I might blindly chose from my collection..lol

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9975 comments I'm afraid I don't join in the challenges as I have an enormous TBR list and so I have my own agenda. Currently reading (and enjoying) almost finished.... this brick: Vikram Seth A Suitable Boy after which
Great Expectations
6 Rainier Drive
Kill Alex Cross
The Well of Lost Plots
10th Anniversary
We Need to Talk About Kevin
Claudia's Big Break
Farewell My Ovaries
Port Mortuary
That will keep me going for a few weeks. No-one can say I limit myself to one genre....

You know you could probably adapt a lot to the challenges Marianne! I have a huge TBR list as well, and I find because I have so many, it's much easier to pick books that 'fit'!!! Enjoy your reading though, you have 2 on there that I've read and enjoyed very much:)
