I just finished Bossypants and enjoyed it so much! I should try to listen to the audiobook, did Fey narrated it? But also loved the pictures in the book. Here is my (short) review: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Now onto Before I Go to Sleep to see what the hype is all about :)

Glad you're enjoying it:D

message 1976: by Lesley (new)

Lesley | 328 comments Brenda, I really liked The Gathering, giving it 4 stars. It is page-turner too. I did take a little while to get into though. It's kind of raw in it's language and descriptions, as could be expected in a story of abuse, alcoholism etc. I recommend it.
I'd best get a copy of Before I Go To Sleep. Seems to be the go!

I just finished Hounded. It was really good. It was actually recommended to me by someone who raved about it and they were definitely right. I can't wait for the next one to come out next month.
I'm having a weekend away this weekend so I'll probably be starting Princess Ben which I found for cheap at a book store.

★ Jess | 3071 comments wow :O

Correction: I meant longest ive stayed up *reading*.
Psssh, Ive pulled an all-nighter before. Plenty of times.
I pulled about ten during the FIFA world cup last year. But the greatest one was a sleep over at a friends how: Got there are 5PM, we stayed in the back room with no adults. When we finally decided to check the time (thinking it was 10-11PM) We found it was 2AM :O
Then we stayed up some more, and feel asleep at 7:30AM, getting picked up at 8AM. Was not the best feeling, though bucket loads of fun :D

message 1991: by [deleted user] (new)

Michael that is an armature effort!

Last straddie holiday pulled one from 10am till like 5am wonderful day filled with beer, bbq at beach, pub, more drinking at the house with a bomfire to top it off. :D

@ Laura - awesome. I don't really read them but i'm writing one for an assessment for school and was wondering if there is a different narrative structure to them as opposed to novels - besides from the obvious use of pictures.

@ Jessica - thanks. My auntie is going to supanova perth this year. i've been to some but haven't been to the comic book section. I'll try and find a comic book for this month.

Michael I have a couple of recommendations for you, as I'm reading Until Tuesday which you recommended to me. Last Dog on the Hill: The Extraordinary Life of Lou by Steve Duno. It sounds really good, and along the same lines. No Place Like Home by Pen Farthing is another one I just found as well.
