What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book)
I'm started reading The Mermaids Singing last night. There is something wrong with the file. My ereader thinks it's 30 pages long. I thought at first I'd downloaded a sample, but I'm up to chapter nine and still on page 29. Page 29 seems to be extremely long.
Oooh, I just checked out that book, Heather, and it looks good. Apart from the REALLY long page 29, how is the story? Is it good?
Is raining again and I am using the Christmas ham bone to slow cook pea and ham soup and reading a torrid regency romance while it bubbles away. The book is
Marrying The Captain by Carla KellyAll I need now to complete my afternoon is a glass of wine!
I finished The Truth About Him
and gave it 5 stars. It is so good! All of the characters are so beautifully flawed and the story is rich and interesting. What a great continuation and conclusion! I am halfway through Breaking Rules
, which I am also loving and I have just started Pride and Prejudice

You've given me an idea..Not so sure about the soup though. And my gosh that's not chilly! lol
I've got a beer that is meant to taste like a Golden Gaytime...Will see.
Currently reading a beer magazine :p

I just finished Breaking Rules
and I gave it 4 stars. All I have to say about it is, "WHY?!" Lol. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
With you on the soup, Sally, that's the best thing you could do with the Christmas ham bone. Although you could have put it in the freezer and done the soup when it was a bit cooler.....
Has anyone else read Seven Poor Men of Sydney by Christina Stead? I'm finding the historical detail interesting. Did not enjoy The Man Who Loved Children by the same author.
I am about a quarter of the way through The Dressmaker and I feel as though this might have made a better film (which I have already seen). The writing is a bit amateurish.
So, I started three new books last night:Pride and Prejudice
, as I mentioned yesterday, but also So Far Into You
on my kindle and Shiloh
on my iPhone.

Thanks, I'll have to get it!
I've just finished an enjoyable Christmas at the Vicarage by Rebecca Boxall which brings me to my 100 books for 2015 and my final for this year!Being New Year's eve I won't be doing too much reading for a couple of days now because of more imminent weekend guests...expected in around an hour! So I had better get a move on, Happy NY all :))
Ps...hope to spend some time in the days ahead planning my next reads ;)
I have just finished an absolutely amazing book - I wish I hadn't put off reading it for so long! Wonderboy by Aussie author Tom Conyers - I'll need to think on my review a bit...
I'm reading broadly from Irish works, from crime fiction to folktales, researching my next book. Have just finished With Our Blessing by Jo Spain. It's a debut, the first of a series and I can recommend it as a very involving crime read. Will review soon.
Finished with The Summer Guest Rating and review tomorrow. Now reading Trouble at the Little Village School
I've been reading Nest the past couple of days. I'm really enjoying it - the mystery of it - but I'm a bit surprised at how different it is from Mr Wigg. I guess the similarity is that in Mr Wigg I learned a lot about fruit, and in Nest I'm learning a lot about birds.
I'm reading, and very much enjoying The Butterfly Enigma, there are a few of my friends here who I know will enjoy this. ;)

Happy New Year everyone :) haven't commented here for ages! I am currently reading Relativity by Antonia Hayes.

I finished The Japanese Lover by Isabel Allende which earns a wholesome 4★. No review as my reading was severely interrupted.
