What Are You Currently Reading? (doesn't have to be an Aussie book)

I am encouraging my husband to read this also.
The Happiest Refugee was one of the first memoirs I read. I had avoided that genre like the plaque. Thoroughly recommend the book.
I finished The Dust That Falls from Dreams by Louis de Bernières Excellent! 4.5★ I thought my 'review brain' might come back to life for this book but no luck:(Now reading A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara It's keeping me nailed to the sofa at the moment.
I'll be starting Devil's Pocket by John Dixon next and am really excited to read it. I loved his first in the series, Phoenix Island so I expect this one will be just as gripping!
I'm getting into Daughter of Smoke & Bone which I have had on my radar for ages. I'm really enjoying it so far.

I must read that again one day. I listened to it and as an audiobook it was truly awful. I gave it one star:( But something made me read book 2 which I gave 4 stars. And I could not wait for the third one which I gave 5 stars!!! So I really should read book one again and change my rating.

Trying to get through my massive "to read" pile.Right now loving Revolutionizing Pedagogy: Education for Social Justice Within and Beyond Global Neo-Liberalism
A fantastic book and not at all as negative as I expected
Nicole wrote: "I'm a bit over half-way through Shadow on the Crown by Patricia Bracewell. A story of the Normans and Danes in the 1100s it's kept me turning the pages."Sounds interesting. (Joining this group is NOT reducing my TBR pile... sigh...)

LOL I'm hopeless.
I have just finished a historical read - The Other Queen by Philippa Gregory - not one of her best IMHO - was 3 stars.Have now picked up The Book of Ivy by Amy Engel which is a YA Dystopian.
Finished Gypsy Cradle: a psychic paranormal thriller by Andrea Drew tonight for a good 4★sNow starting The Bones of You by Debbie Howells on the recommendation of some AR friends.
Reading an ARC of Kingdom of the Strong 4th in a series of which I haven't read any others, but it doesn't seem to matter.... good so far!

I'm still reading A Little Life. I can only read for a couple of hours per day, it's so heartbreakingly sad, I have to put it aside.
Was just reading Rita's review of Go Set a Watchman, for some reason I was totally positive that Harper Lee was dead and it was a posthumous publication. No idea why.
I've got about 65 pages of Kingdom of the Strong to go, and it looks like I will be getting the other books in the series out of the library, LOL, like I need another series!!!

Yeah maybe.
I finished A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara 5★It is quite honestly the most profound, intense, haunting and at times harrowing book that I've read so far this decade. Every time I think of it, I get a huge lump in my throat. If you wish to read an excellent review, read our Angela M's at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I currently reading Lord James Harrington and the Winter Mystery by Lynn Florkiewicz - a nice English country village cosy mystery set in the l950sAnd - I am also reading
The Vampire's Mail Order Bride by Kristen Painter because why wouldn't you read a book with that title? Is a romance ;)
I'm really enjoying The Bones of You by Debbie Howells but have been slow on it because of other committments, now I'm at 90% and have to put it down again to get dinner! My DH and my DLD (dear little Dog ;) are starrrrrrrving!I will finish it later on tonight :)
Jules, I was trying to read the last few pages of my book last night while cooking dinner. I realised I had to give up but didn't really want to!
Liam wrote: "Was just reading Rita's review of Go Set a Watchman, for some reason I was totally positive that Harper Lee was dead and it was a posthumous publication. No idea why."Ah ha Liam.. You're not the only one. I thought this too all those months ago when the news came out.

I've started Unless by Carol Shields as part of a Carol Shields readalong in another group. She is an author who, I was surprised to read, is deceased, only 68 when she died. I just always think of her as 'constant' because I have all her books and often re-read them.

I had forgotten that she died. She was one of my favourite authors but so long ago that I have not even marked her books off on Goodreads as having been read.

Enjoying The World At Her Fingertips: The Story Of Helen Keller, have been fascinated with Helen Keller since I was at primary school, and remember holding a Scholastic book in my hands. Bought two books just recently. The next one will be her biography.

I also have loved her since childhood Suzanne:) I read The Story of My Life in 2013 and loved it (once again)

I remember doing a big assignment on her in High School for a person who overcame difficulties. Boy she had a few difficult hurdles to overcome didn't she?
I'm currently reading The Unbroken Line by Aussie author Alex Hammond It's very enjoyable so far:) I quite enjoyed his first book, and this is #2 in the series:)
I've just finished The Unbroken Line by Alex Hammond (review tomorrow) and will start Cold Granite by Stuart MacBride next...
