As Frederic stepped away from Morth, Ruby, without relaxing her grip, now pointed the wand towards Nicolas.
Determined to confront him, she asked directly
"Why did you want to meet with me?"
Morth, amused as ever, started walking slowly towards her, as if he was not even slightly threatened that she had pulled out her wand. As he walked, he started talking..
"Well, my dear, you are absolutely right, we don't have all the time in the world and you have to admit that I am a very popular and busy man." he stopped then and laughed a little, expecting a kind of smirk from Ruby.
She remained silent.
He continued talking with the smile still on his face.
"Anyway, you have to excuse me for dragging you here of all places, and this late at night. But seeing how cleverly you avoided me these last months that I was trying to reach out to you, I immediately realized that I needed to use more drastic measures."
He then stopped walking and looked Ruby directly in her eyes.
"I have some very valuable information to give you, darling. Information that is worth to you years and years of suffering. However, being the intelligent girl that you are, you understand that it will cost you a little something."
Ruby knew where this was going.

Ruby knew where this was going.

There was a way he could let the other two know he was here. But would they give him away to that prat? He wasn't sure if he should do it.

It was all because of him. Everything that had happened the last three years, everything was because of her father.
Ruby sighed, knowing that she was losing her territory. She still pointed her wand at him even though she knew that he would not hurt her. At least not physically.
"You found him didn't you? After all this time."
Morth smirked and started walking again.
"Oh my dear, are you now interested in our little conversation? Good, good, you know that was all I wanted. Your interest."
He winked at Ruby, as if he knew he'd trapped her.
"What do you want?" said Ruby.
"Oh no, Mrs. Thornwall, it won't be that easy. You see, it is not only what you can offer me. It's also what I can gain if I strike a deal with your lovely father. So I guess, you are the one who should think what could you possibly give me that can top that."
He was now very close to Ruby.

In a flash, Henry's wand was moving, and Nicolas Morth was pushed backwards and to the ground.
During this time Henry had stood, giving a glimpse of himself to Ruby and Frederic.
But not Nicolas. The only wand he'd see when he got up would be that of Ruby's and Frederic's.
They had better play this right.

As Morth was pushed backwards, Ruby turned around and in shock she saw Thorn coming out of his hiding for a second, just enough time for her and Frederic to spot him.
So he followed me after all. Well, go figure, now there's one more.
She saw the shock in Frederic's eyes as well, but later on it was replaced by the oddest determination. Ruby didn't have much time, she knew that Frederic would betray her at some point.
When Nicolas stood up again, his happy face was replaced by confusion.
"What do you think you're doing, Mrs. Thornwall? I thought you were wiser than that."
Ruby, not knowing why she was covering for Thorn, thought she'd play Morth's game.
"You were awfully too close, Mr. Morth. It was only natural for my reflexes to react." she replied.
Morth smiled, and said
"Dearest Ruby, meet me in the Meadow tomorrow afternoon. I will then hear your offer and decide whether you're worth my interest. Farewell."
The smoke-bomb hit the ground before Ruby had realized it. In a instant, Morth was gone, leaving her, Hildebrand and Thorn alone.
((I'm glad you're enjoying this Eve!))

((Thanks Eve!))

"I don't know what this is all about, and I'm not going to pry." Directly, that is.
He stuck his hand out in front of Ruby. "Few people earn my respect, but you handled that," he paused, "almost well. Morth is a snake."
Ruby looked at Thorn and she accepted his praise by shaking his hand. It was not an often phenomenon after all.
"Well, I've been handling him for the past few years. I've gotten good at it."
She then turned and ran towards Frederic.
"You can't tell anyone. This is not only about me anymore, it's also about you! Don't you get it nut-head? Do you even know who Nicolas Morth is?" she said desperately trying to get his attention.

She tried one last time...
"Climb off your tree and face reality, Hildebrand. Connect the dots. He knows my father, and he's willing to strike deals with him. Do you think scolding him to the Headmistress is going to stop him?" Ruby said.
As Thorn talked smart, Ruby saw his logic and realized she was exhausted. She just wanted to leave those two and live alone somewhere far away, with no problems at all.
However, life was never that kind.
"Fine, let's go back." she said to Thorn.
"Don't be a fool Hildebrand. Gryffindors are not only brave.."
With that she left with Thorn, heading to the common room.

"How naive can you be? You think just because the Dark Days are over, there isn't anything evil out there anymore? Or there can't be corruption in the Ministry?" said Ruby almost surprised with his idiocy.

He smirked. "Well, it was nice not seeing you both tonight." And he left.

Thorn and Hildebrand left and Ruby found herself standing alone in the edge of the Forest.
Information. Information. She had to get it, but how? She coud not give Nicolas Morth what he wanted. And now she had those other two to worry about.
What a perfect day that was.. she thought.
She started walking towards the common room trying to figure out, what she was going to do.

((Sure, let's continue this tomorrow! We can meet in a neutral ground, and discuss what happened tonight! We'll see, I guess.))
((Yeah Eve, we're all yours :D Now that the story started I don't mind ^_^ See you all tomorrow!))
((My character Delany knows Henry and Ruby, or I could use Elle, she and Frederic have something going xD))
((Delany is my preferred choice, becaue Ruby met her and Henry knows her as well! But you know, you can tag Elle along for Frederic XD))
((Guys, I posted at the Courtyards. Whenever you're on, you can RP there to continue the story! ^_^))
Petra walked through the forest. It was quiet and serene and peaceful. Just what she needed. She pushed a lock of hair aside and removed her robes as she began to climb an oak tree.

((I seriously can't remember, have Dahlia and Petra met? I think they have))
Recognizing the girl as Dahlia, she waved, scooting over to make space. "Hi, what's up?" She said with a broad grin.

"Nothing, in particular," Petra said, for that was indeed what she had been doing. But still, she tried not to let Dahlia know what she had been thinking about.

Petra sighed. She guessed she'd rather vent than be alone. "I guess I'll tell you. But please don't tell, not anyone. Don't even tell Delany I told you." She took a deep breath.
"My father and my older sister, Aspen, took the family fortune and ran off to France. Aspen attended Beauxbaton and we haven't heard from them in a long time. But a few weeks ago, we got an owl from father, telling my mother that Aspen was coming home and she was going to go to Hogwarts and live with us for a while."
Petra tried to stop but she couldn't.
"Now my dad is expecting us to welcome her home! As if! She helped steal our money!"
Petra had wondered if she was making a bigger deal out of the situation that was needed, Laney had certainly accepted the fact gracefully.

"I guess I'm just disappointed, angry, and maybe, I said maybe, a bit nervous," Petra admitted. "Mum says Aspen really was a sweet girl. She says daddy maybe forced her to come. I'm not sure though."

Petra agreed. "Delany is the only sister I've ever known. I mean, if mom was to have another baby girl, that would be different. Aspen is 2 or 3 years older than I am." Petra said softly.
