Alena Grace (ayushivyas09gmailcom) | 208 comments ((Thank you.))

Nora seemed a nice little girl. Alisia knew that Nora was not of her age but she surely willed to be her friend. "So what are working on. Maybe I can help you with something."

message 4702: by Suditi (last edited Mar 28, 2018 09:02AM) (new)

Suditi (the_book_farer) Nora was willing to do Potions but was relieved when Alisia mentioned that she can help her with her essay. "I have to write an essay on Human Transfuguration." Nora admitted dully. "I will be grateful if you will help me."

She took out the essay which was written neatly on a parchment. It was not more than 10 lines and Nora was ashamed of herself. She passed it to Alisia so she can have a look at it. "I know it's very little but I am not getting anything else to write. I have got some books to write." she said pointing at the heap of books in front of her.

Alena Grace (ayushivyas09gmailcom) | 208 comments Alisia didn't have any great interest in Transfiguration but she obviously knew how help the girl. She was actually an expert in transfiguring humans since her childhood, despite it being her least favorite subject, as once she had turned her brother into a ferret.

Having a look over Nora's parchment, she decided to lend her own story for her essay as Prof. Ferrel has always loved her adding real time stories in her essays." Hey, would you like to hear a real story on this topic.. you can help you with the essay. Prof. will love it."

message 4704: by Suditi (new)

Suditi (the_book_farer) Nora observed Alisia face as she quickly read the essay. She saw that Alisia was thinking something as after reading it. Alisia told about adding a story to her essay. First, Nora thought that the essay required information about Human Transfiguration not a story but then it will be something different from others and it will be better than nothing. And Alisia was of course more experienced than her and she seemed trustable.

"It seems fine to me, it will be as an real example...but are you sure Professor will accept it." she asked her.

Alena Grace (ayushivyas09gmailcom) | 208 comments Alisia had always had some real time story to add in each of her transfiguration essay because of her father being an expert in it and obviously her own experiences. She knew that Prof. Ferrel had always loved them. There had been times when prof. even called her during her free time to hear some of them. The stories part was the only thing what held her interest in the subject.

"Of course the stories will not take up the full essay but it surely added some weight to it. Prof. Ferrel likes life experiences. But you know its not necessary" her voice showed excitement.

message 4708: by Suditi (last edited Apr 02, 2018 03:37AM) (new)

Suditi (the_book_farer) Alisia looked confident so Nora agreed her point. "You are correct. It will be an example and what's better than that." Nora said cheerfully.

She looked around for her bag hurriedly which was slumped between a stack of books. "Wait a second, please." She took out a book which was always present in her bag for some rough work and things like this. She opened the last page, picked up a quill and placed it on her lap like a journalist. "I am ready now, you can start." she asked Alisia to begin the story.

message 4709: by Alena (new)

Alena Grace (ayushivyas09gmailcom) | 208 comments Alisia was thrilled to tell Nora about her first transfiguration. Alisia went back in the past when she accidentally turned her younger brother into a ferret. She actually did not just experience doing a transfiguration spell but also saw what the real reality of Transfiguration was.

Remembering from the past, Alicia stared in the void of the sky outside the Library Window, "I was nine when I first showed Magic. It was a total accident. Me, Amanda and Alex were playing 'Catch and Snatch the Snitch'. The Snitch was but a normal tennis ball and one person had to run with the ball in his or her hand and the other two had to catch the person and snatch the 'Snitch' ball. Whoever from the two wins, gets to make the other two work according to him for the whole weekend.

Alex was the one running with the Snitch and Amanda and I were running after him. Whenever one of us got close to him, he somehow managed to gain more speed. This happened many times and i totally wanted to win the game. Making Alex and Amanda do all my Chores for a week was always a fun and even Maa couldn't say anything in that. This thought made my nine year old mind bring a smile on my face and make me forget about the real world. That happy thought probably slowed down my pace and when i came back to reality, i saw that Amanda was about to catch Alex and I just got panicked and and my brows could show it. Just than I saw Alex change into a little brown ferret but just for a second and he came back to his real self. I thought I might have just imagined it. But Amanda was screaming and Mom came out of the house to see the source of it. Mom gave a shriek and went beside Alex. I had no clue what was happening. Nothing had happened to Alex , he was just fine ... no scratch no nothing than why were they screaming. I stood at the same place where I was before. Mom's face showed that she knew what had happened and she came hurriedly to me and started shaking me. Than she made me sit on the naked grass and I could see her lips moving continuously but could not hear anything and just after that I lost my consciousness.

When i opE` my eyes, was on my bed unaware of anything. Dad was there and even few of my aunts. Every one had circled me round my bed. They said that I had turned Alex into a ferret. ' But how could that be possible? How in the world could i have done that?Like I am just nine. And even if that happened,it was just for a moment, i saw him back to normal self in just a minute......', i tried to convince them. But Mom said Alex was turned for the whole while until I lost my consciousness. This probably made my child mind think that I had lost it. They said that this was my first appearance as a Witch and that even if it might have made Alex turn into a ferret, that did not stop them from celebrating.

The whole time my father did not say anything and just stood on the edge of my bed, his face displaying a crooked smile and i don't know HOW.. but i COULD understand that smile.

What others saw was Alex turning into a ferret and only after I got unconscious did they see him back to his own self. But what I saw was not that. I saw him turning....., but he was back into himself in a moment. This made my mind run to a theory that transfiguration is not always about US turning or changing the state of body of the object, but it even used the inclusion of mist ,or what we call it, ILLUSION."

"There.. she came back to Nora, who was sitting there the whole time, listening..I hope you liked it" Alisia asked while trying to figure out Nora's expression.

message 4710: by Suditi (new)

Suditi (the_book_farer) As Alisia began her story Nora started writing and making notes in a very neat and clear handwriting. She imagined the things as Alisia described them. Her brother turning into a ferret and her felling unconscious. She herself has never experienced such things.

Alisia was seeing outside to the sky recalling her past. She looked as though she had forgotten her and was just talking to the sky outside. She was reciting the story in a flow and Nora made had to scribble down everything very fast after scratching and making sure that she had written everything.

As Alisia finished her story, Nora's hand ached. She looked at her paper and was disgusted at the way she wrote everything. She loved Alisia's story and thought of her big long essay it will make. "Of course, I liked it." She said cheerfully. "Thank you very much." She admitted politely in a grateful manner.

message 4711: by Alena (new)

Alena Grace (ayushivyas09gmailcom) | 208 comments Alisia was glad that Nora liked the story. She knew when she starts her story nothing in the world can stop her untill she has completed it. This was her drawback. But this reminded her of Nora's past.

There was something going on in Alisia's mind since she had seen Nora sitting in the Library. She knew she should not ask about it but she had heard about Nora's father, she had heard about how that incident had made Nora so quite. She knew it was long back but it was her father and how can someone forget about it.She wanted to comfort her. Alisia agitated,.. grabbed ALL her strength to ask her about it but in that agitation and nervousness the only thing that came out of her mouth was, "Are you okay?"

message 4713: by Suditi (new)

Suditi (the_book_farer) (( I am really sorry. I was out of town for some days so couldn't post but now we can continue.))

message 4714: by Suditi (new)

Suditi (the_book_farer) Alisia's story was very much related to her family and Nora couldn't help thinking of her own family which now only consisted her mother and sister. She had loved her father more than anything else in the world and remembered those sweet memories.

She had became very lonely after her father's death and hadn't talked to anyone for at least one month. Not a single day went by when she hadn't thought of her father. In the early days she cried very much. But later she understood that crying would make no good and from then she had barely cried, only kept quiet and engaged in her work.

She was thinking of all the things when Alisia's voice caught her. She was staring at her and Nora wondered for how long she was sitting here deep in her own thoughts. "Yes I am completely fine." she said straightening up her back.

message 4715: by Alena (new)

Alena Grace (ayushivyas09gmailcom) | 208 comments Alisia could imagine the pain that she finds in Nora's voice as she sees the same in her father's. Alisia's grandfather also died when her father was just ten or so and to hide this pain, he uses the same technique as Nora's......silence.

Alisia walked her fingers lightly over the covers of the old, dusty books kept in front of her. Alisia did not know what to say. Nora was nothing like her friends but her quite nature caught her mind like nobody's ever has.

message 4716: by Suditi (new)

Suditi (the_book_farer) There was a long silence between two of them. Nora waited for Alisia to speak but then broke the silence herself. "You yourself were having some work, weren't you?"

Nora really felt bad that she had wasted very much of Alisia's time on her work and it was very kind of Alisia to help her. "I have wasted most of your time, I am really sorry. Can I help you with something?"she asked her hoping that Alisia will let her help.

message 4717: by Alena (new)

Alena Grace (ayushivyas09gmailcom) | 208 comments In that story thing and all, Alisia totally forgot about her own Potions homework."Yeahh.. I have potions to do. And it will be so nice if you could help me with it. You know.. I am trying to impress Prof. Slughorn. I want to join Slugclub" She giggled.

message 4718: by Suditi (new)

Suditi (the_book_farer) "Hmm, Professor Slughorn will of course like a storyteller girl in his club." she said smiling. She was herself in the club and he was the head of her house. "I can talk to him if you like, I am also in the club but you will really need to impress him. Well what are you writing about?" she asked her thinking how she can help her.

message 4719: by Alena (new)

Alena Grace (ayushivyas09gmailcom) | 208 comments The idea of talking to Slughorn gleamed interest in her eyes but it seemed like cheating. But hey!! SlugClub is one of the most coolest club. People do crazy things to join it. Talking through somebody may not be considered cheating whatsoever.

At first Alisia was not sure what to say but than, " Cool!!!" She pulled out a tube of chapstick from her jean pocket and applied a perfect layer on her lips. She thought for a minute about the topic to write on beacuse it was nothing particular. " You know.. just the kind of things you ought to be able to make after completing your O.W.Ls, but he specifically said to make it funny. So you know I was thinking about making something like a mixture of Exploding Elixir and Hiccoughing Solution or Amortentia, but I don't know."

message 4720: by Suditi (new)

Suditi (the_book_farer) ((Thanks for waiting for me. It was a long time))

Nora was happy that she was somehow helpful to the other girl. She might not be able to help her in writing but she can definitely ask Professor Slughorn to join Alisia in the club.

"Well....you can try Hiccoughing Potion. Exploding Elixir will look too much disastrous and you don't look that type, but it's absolutely your wish. And yes....Amortentia will also be great." she shrugged.

message 4721: by Alena (new)

Alena Grace (ayushivyas09gmailcom) | 208 comments ((sooo...sorry for making you wait..damn..after all the exams I almost forgot about it.))

Nora made sense. Exploding Elixir was not just a disastor, it was even a bit hard to make.
Alisia felt lucky meeting Nora. She seemed like her own sister.

Ash Addie silently scolds herself for trying to talk to another person at all. Eva probably didn’t like her, as most people didn’t. Or at least, that’s what Addie assumed. She didn’t actually know if this was true or not. She sighed and hunched in her chair, burying her face in her book as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. It wasn’t. It was the most boring book in the world. But she had to study it for homework.

message 4728: by Ash (new)

Ash Addie tries again. “So, you’re interested in medicine? Health has always intrigued me, though I get sick at the sight of blood. Are you par to of the Slugclub? I see you like potions.” She looks hopefully at Eva, hoping she will answer.

Suditi (the_book_farer) Kerry came into the Library merrily with her bag slung over one of her shoulders and her Transfiguration book in one hand. She looked over for some nice, cozy place to sit and saw Addie her fellow Hufflepuff in one corner. Addie was a fourth year and a nice company too. "Thank God, it won't boring there if I have Addie.", she mumbled to herself.

She went near her," Hey Addie! Do you mind if I join you?", she asked with a smile planted on her face.

message 4742: by Ash (new)

Ash Addie looked up from her book and saw Kerry coming towards her. She had always wished to be like Kerry, or at least know her. “Um, sure. I mean, not at all! Go ahead and sit here!” She mentally groaned. Why did she always have to mess things up?

Suditi (the_book_farer) "Thanks a lot", she said as her smile widened. She pulled a chair and sat by her side. She put her belongings on the table and took a deep breath. It was a long day and a very tiring one too. But now sitting in the library made her feel nice.

"Hope I am not disturbing you. By the way, what are you reading?", she asked her innocently peeping over Addie's book.

message 4745: by Ash (new)

Ash Addie smiles timidly at her. “Don’t worry, you’re not bothering me at all. And I’m reading The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore. Reyna had walked into the library to see that her favorite chair had been taken. She had an idea of what to do to get it back but would wait until the right moment. Then she took a closer look at who was in her chair. It was Kerry, just a girl from around. Next to Kerry was...Addie! Reyna rolled her eyes. "The little nosy prat is here... good lord." She muttered.

Putting on a sweet smile and adjusting her shirt, she walked up to the girls.
"Hey there girls, hey Addie!" She said. "Mind if I join you, I was just gonna do a little bit of 'reading' on the History of Dark Magic." Reyna made quotation marks with her fingers. She wasn't actually going to read, more like do some poking around for her sister.

message 4748: by Ash (new)

Ash Addie looked up at Reyna. She was still a little creeped out about what had happened earlier in the Caretakers office, but she didn’t want to be rude. “Sure,” She said. “I don’t mind.” Why had Reyna quoted ‘reaidng’? Addie sighed. She hated mysteries. But she was still curious.

message 4749: by Suditi (new)

Suditi (the_book_farer) Kerry nodded her head in agreement. She didn't know Reyna well. She was in a year above her and in Slytherin. That's all. "Well, whatever it is, it isn't going to get boring with three people around.", she thought to herself.

She drew out her quill box from her bag and her paper for transfiguration and started thinking.

message 4750: by Ash (new)

Ash Add I’d went back to reading The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore. She had read most of it the night before and on,y had a few pages left. She turned the last page, and shut the book with conviction. Now all she had to do was right an essay on it. “Can I help you with your homework?” She asked Kerry.
